God dammit, why did we block, we should have attacked as soon as she entered melee. Too late now, she's got a double move coming up, so this is probably our last action. If we run, she'll just catch up and then coup-de-grace us anyway. I'd rather take it standing.

Throw the candlestick at her! Maybe we'll get lucky and her new spell will give her an elemental weakness to fire. The bitch.

: "This blade was given to my by my father, and I trust in it more than any magic tricks. My power as the Hero of Light is focused through it, making me one of the most powerful swordsmen in the world. You more than anyone else should know this!"
Cue death and restart from level one. We should have ran. :-/

Use Candlestick to repel inevitable grass/plant attack with fire.

Use our Induce Monologue skill to buy enough time to grab the candlestick. Then grab the candlestick and prepare to use it to burn vines or whatever.

Actualy... better idea.

If the Witch is our wife, and we are hiding some sort of secret from her...

Taunt her about the affair you had and the bastard child who will take up your sword. Kill Self to deny her the pleasure. Commence chapter 1 as the True Last Hero of Light.

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

Calmly accept death, knowing that this is just the prologue, and that the bad guy never actually wins in the end. Let her know that if she persists in her wicked ways, she will be unable to escape fate. Smile. Ask her if she regrets anything.

I have no better suggestion, but this is a bad idea. Not only would this make the game MORE like LostMagic (Fun but difficult as h***, and not really worth all the time invested by the end), it would also make us start as a level one hero as well. Surely we want to start off with better then one spell.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

The candle's flame is not lit.

But no matter.

You are prepared for what happens next.

: "Wait."

: "Why are you doing this? What do you know that I don't?"

: "Doing what, Alma?"

: "Why are you not fighting me? Not worrying? Not feeling afraid to die!"

: "Because you cannot have the power of the Hero of Light."

: "What? Are you going to tell me there's another heir? Do I have a GRANDSON I don't know about, Alistaire?"

Actualy... better idea.

: "Here is a question for you. Do you know what the power of the Hero of Light IS? In all your years of knowing me, have you ever, EVER seen me wield powers like my brethren?"

: "...No."

: "Then why do you seek me power? Why fill a jewel with nothing?"

: "It was foretold, centuries ago, that when the Last Hero is slain and his family line is extinguished, the world will pass once again into an age of peace."

: "Say the last part again."

: "...The world will pass once again into an age of peace."

: "NO."

: "Alma."

: "NO NO NO."

: "Do you know why you have never seen the power of the Hero of Light?"

: "I beg of you, Alistaire. Please, spare me."

: "I'll have plenty of time to think about it."
