"King, sir? Are you looking for anything like these?"

Hold the axe and the tapestry out for all to see.

Holding the objects up to him, the tapestry falls open. Suddenly, he bursts out laughing. ‘Look for yourself.’ He nods at the tapestry, and you turn it around to see the word NO fixed in golden thread amongst the shifting patterns.
‘Anyway, we aren’t here to find an object, just to stop those shadow things. Do what you want with those, but i have a hunch that cloth may come in handy given that reaction.’

"Alright." Krom keeps both items, for now at least.

Hm...I can't help but wonder what this is. Only one way to find out...

Krom re-rolls the tapestry. "Are you a magical cloth?" He unrolls and reads it.

OF COURSE. WHAT DID YOU EXPECT, SOME KIND OF CRYSTAL BALL?
You get the feeling it would be rolling it’s eyes if it possessed any.

Krom rerolls the tapestry.
"Are you always this sarcastic?"
He unrolls and reads the tapestry before closing it again.
"Do you answer only yes-or-no questions?"
He repeats the process, and something occurs to him.
"Do I need to keep rerolling and unrolling you?"

Roll and unroll the tapestry for a minute. Then, ask:

"Did you like that?"

Roll tapestry.

"Do I need to ask the questions aloud?"

Read tapestry.

THAT TICKLES.
AND OF COURSE YOU NEED TO SAY IT ALOUD. I’M A ROLL OF CLOTH. I DON’T HAVE A BRAIN TO BE TELEPATHIC WITH. THOUGH I DIDN'T SAY STOP.

Ryxa hopped down and took the parchment.

"Enough!"

Action: Continue onwards in the dungeon!
Also, examine the axe...

The axe is light enough to wield easily in one hand, well balanced for throwing also, and made of wood, but doesn’t seem to exhibit any special properties otherwise. It’s sharper than any wooden weapon has any right to be, and the vines wrapped around the handle seem to grow from the base of the axe itself.
Two routes present themselves. You could climb back onto the bridge, and continue on as you were before, or you could pass underneath it and see where the one you stand in originated from.

((Dwarmin: It's a tapestry. Therefore you grabbed nothing.))

"Not really, no one has yet told m...What is going on?"
Read the tapestry.
