Grab the first Shadow Creature and throw him overboard.

Ryxa looks up to spot another creature dropping from the ceiling towards her, (8+4+4v6) sidestepping with ease. As the creature lies stunned on the ground, (7+6v9) she drives Mru’Shkane through it’s back, the blade sliding from it’s sheath and into the rock even as the ribbons on it’s handle move to wrap round her hand. The thing itself fades into shady mist as the other three make to move. The first swipes at the Dwarven king, (6v10) landing what should have been a clean blow to his chest. However, the crown around his head flares for a second, and the air around him flashes as the claw is turned away.
Krom stands solid in place as his foe lunges to him,
(11+2v7) flipping the thing out of the cave mouth. It smashes into the side of the ship with a crunch before hitting the water, where it too fades into smoke. (5+3v6) Kyle shoots out a vine at the final creature, catching it a deep blow to the arm, and sending it spinning to the side, (10+3v7) where a second vine pierces it’s centre and causes it to dissolve. (2+7v10) The king then grunts, as his hammer smashes into empty ground, (8+7v5) before swinging to the side to crush the last enemy.
‘Must be getting out of practice,’ he chuckles, a slight grin touching his lips. With that he turns and marches straight through the doorway, into a corridor beyond. He yells after you for a moment, ‘Follow me, soldier,’ before you hear a crash of splintering wood echoing after him.

You follow the king hastily, to find him facing off with a trio of black robed figures, all armed with long daggers. The room itself has two more doors, one opposite you, and one to your left. The centre of the room contains a mosaic square, each corner of which is covered by an empty pedestal. The king stands on the side of the square closest to you, with one enemy in the centre, and the other two on the far side of the square in such a way that the pedestals grant them some cover.
In the doorless side of the room is an alcove, in which is set another pedestal. On this is a pair of steel boots.
Your attention is drawn back to the fight as the king raises his hammer.

"Why can't I have normal days anymore?"

Try to let the trained fighters handle this and don't get in their way, but stab any enemies who come within reach.

Action: Stop and look! Are they trying to lead us into a trap?

Ryxa raises a hand to the group, indicating them to stop. Unfortunately, this has little effect on the already charging Darkling, who barrels straight past both her and the king into the centre of the mosaic. As his foot slips onto the next tile, it melts to a silver goo, creeping slowly up his leg and pulling down as it does so. Even the ogre, with his great strength, is pulled onto his knee.
The foremost of you foes standing a single step in front of the trapped figure, laughs gently, and signals for the other two to advance. One slips round each side of the mosaic, and the leader joins the one passing by the boots.
Even as Kyle bursts into flame, the leader keeps coming, and the others, seeing this, proceed likewise. Meanwhile, the ogre sinks still further.

Ryxa advanced as well. She had a thought to make them die, and now intended to make her will reality.

Action: Pick out a single target on the side, and eliminate him. Be mindful of floor tiles.

The Drow moves to engage the isolated foe, (2+6v12) but the figure darts off to her side, (5+2v7+4) it’s attack also failing to find it’s mark. (3v4) The figure turns slowly as the king’s boot scuffs the ground behind it, (6+1v10-2) a blow from his hammer whistling just over the robe’s hood, (5+4) causing it to flinch slightly, although not enough to provide an opening.
Meanwhile, the other two enemies close on Kyle and Krom. The leader charges up to Kyle,
(9+4v2+3) her blade striking true, and passing between the struts into the knot of vines beneath.
She withdraws the blade, hand alight.
(8+6) She shakes it for a moment, calm and collected, lowering the flames to embers. Kyle is struck by the fact that the lights which normally highlight living things in his vision are not present on any of the three enemies.
 Krom, meanwhile,
(7+2v8+2) is fending off the last of the figures, his two daggers locked around their knife. (7-2v7+4) Neither side is succeeding at pushing the blades further towards the other.
The ogre’s waist is now at floor level, and the fluid continues to drag him down.
