But if, say, I had the right to name a ship class, could I have Captain Kaian flying Kaian class starship? That would be quite weird.
So the people with several naming rights will have to submit several names?

EDIT: and for the $50 backers (which I am part of)? They are naming a character already. Does that mean this character can be found in random battles as well?
And while I'm here, how important would those 5 characters be?

yeah - so you could think of it as the son of Henry Ford driving a Ford - sure other pilots might think you got there due to nepotism, but you know you worked hard, you deserve that command.

Hey guys! Exciting news - we reached our base goal!


Now we are pursuing stretch goals of an additional pirate faction (+5K) and 'Privateer' mode (+30K) and a dream goal of FPS elements (+40K).

I didn't come empty handed - here is a new trailer:

This is a warm up trailer for the Kickstarter finale trailer, which by my estimates is... well I don't want to oversell it (ok I do - I'm super excited).

I will post it later on this week and then quit running around the web promoting the project.

So Chaos i have a question for you.
I don't have much faith that Privateer mode will make it, little sad about it but nothing to worry about it. Would it be possible for modders to build themselves a Privateer Campaign?

No worries! Privateer mode isn't a all or nothing thing.


So 25 - 30 is civilian faction. 30-35 (where we are right now) is bounty hunter faction. And 35-40 is trading faction.

Point is that if I have funds for more ships I'll use them. Coding is "free" to support ship purchases, capturing, faction alignemnts, civilian/bh/trader traffic etc.


So it will happen, and eventually will be fully flhesed out - (via modding (adding new areas of space, ships, objects etc) or via further art assets) depending on how things to into release.

No that's that awesome. Then so we would see a privateer mode eventually with the game and if not it would be easy to just start dropping in objects?

So I'll have to code the privateer elements in - plan is post release to keep up with the release schedule.


So a purchase system (ships, resources, wingmen, bases, stations, etc). Stronger faction system. More of a "universe life" system - civilians doing their thing, pirates attacking them, bounty hunters attacking the pirates + civilians.

Open up the game for a freedom of travel, that sort of thing.


Plus the art assets and a reletively smooth progression (starter ships, middile tier ships, end ships etc) and other sandbox elements.

Easy is a reletive term - its designed to be fully moddable. Personally I think its very easy to mod. Check out the Kickstarter for some vids showing modding demos etc.
