Why would that set anyone off?
I'm also curious about this. Are people supposed to be pro puzzle ("Of course it's a puzzle game, non-puzzle games are for neanderthals.") or anti puzzle ("puzzle games are for nerds, this is a game of 1337 skeelz"?)

Most puzzle games I've played - portal and portal 2 included - are "find the one solution the designer intended you to use for each puzzle" games. With Gunpoint, there tend to be a large number of possible solutions and you can just look around and see solutions (or at least I can - and I can't in portal 2, for whatever reason).

I realised fairly late in the campaign how powerful a tool hanging from the ceiling directly above a patrolling guard can be; I used it to get past that floor of the final level with 3 dudes on it (not really spoilers) and wirejack that terminal. If it hadn't occurred to you, try it out, it expediates a whole bunch of new methods of doing things.

Also, unrelated news: Using the Gatecrashers to kick doors down doesn't count as noise, somehow.

You know... I wonder

Do people who play this consider it a Puzzle game?

Stealth puzzle is the genre I see most commonly attributed to it, and it fits just fine. Your playstyle can affect the balance, but there is a certain minimum level of puzzle always involved.

I was more or less interested to see if there was any snobbery involved. If the term "puzzle game" would set them off.
So you were trolling? Gee, that's new.

Nor does knocking a guard out by kicking a door into them count as violence at all. It's like Tom put them in the game to make Gentleman Ghost Ninja Lightning runs possible.

I did my final thoughts on Gunpoint in a video.

Overall it's a good game, and I recommend buying it. I just wanted more than a four hour campaign.

Fun game.

Trying to do 100% no-violence, no-witnesses, no-noise in every mission possible is pretty cool. Obviously I most often end 100% "thoughtful".

Two main endings, and three subplots that mostly affect your conscience.
