Born on the 27th March 20__, Alexei and his family moved to North America from Moscow when he was five, living in the _______ Barrens. Being taught to fight by his older brother Sergei and being ground down by an abusive father's drinking, Alexei grew up tough.
After losing his father to liver failure and his mother to nervous breakdown shortly after at the age of fifteen, Alexei fell in with a gang called the_____, a group of thugs dedicated to the augmentation of their bodies with cybernetics. After running with them for two years and recieving his first two implants - his fang implants and his cybereye - Alexei broke off from the gang to chase after a girl named Natasha, with whom he stayed eight years with. In this time Alexei settled down, getting a normal day job with a mechanic called Bloody Pete - so named for the curses of his customers when he told them how much they owed him - and concieving a daughter named Nikita with Natasha.
After seven years of the quiet life, by the time Nikita was around seven years old, Alexei was approached by an old ganger friend called Darren who wanted help raiding a cybernetics warehouse in the industrial district. Money was getting tight and Nikita's 'college fund' (otherwise known as the rainy day fund, e.g. the everyday fund) was almost empty so Alexei agreed to help out his old buddy one last time. The op was... less than successful. Although they got away with a decent haul of 'ware, the only guy who would take it was Markus, the 'ware surgeon the gang used and he would only give 'credit' for the 'ware. Supposing that he could get a leg up in the world and that it would go to waste if he didn't, Alexei decided to get augmented again.
No sooner than he had laid down on the table and gone under for the procedure, Markus had decided that Alexei needed to be brought back into the gang... one way or another. When Alexei had awoken he found that Markus had modified him far beyond what he had asked for. Instead of merely implanting cyberears and upgrading his cybereye, Markus had replaced his entire left arm and his right hand, including hand blades and retractable climbing claws. A skeletal balance tail graced his backside and his ears were made of chrome. Every smell was sharper and a pulse in the back of his head alerted him to everything around him.
When Alexei realised what Markus had done he lashed out in anger, cutting out Markus's right eye before the gangers present restrained him. Darren managed to talk Alexei out of there, whereupon Alexei left him in the dust as he sprinted home. Once there he collapsed upon the couch and slept. He awoke to someone prodding the back of his head. Turning over, he saw his daughter, her eyes wide. Bolting upright and attempting to hug her, Alexei forgot that the hand blades he had cut Markus's eye out with were still extended. Nikita bolted from the room, screeching to Natasha about 'a monster with daddy's face'. Natasha ran in, to see the father of her child replaced by a man who looked just like the gangers who ran the neighbourhood. Seeing the look on her face, Alexei ran from his home, crying in shame that his family could not stand to look at him.
Alexei moved into the garage where he worked for a time, sending all his money to his family via Bloody Pete. But before long he left the garage as well, unable to deal with the looks on the face's of those who knew him; his colleagues, his old friend, even his older brother Sergei. Dissapointment. They had all thought that Alexei was done with the gang, that it had just been a phase, but now the evidence before their eyes disagreed with that idea. Alexei was just again a piece of ganger trash.
Unable to support himself or send money to Natasha and Nikita, Alexei searched for work. It wasn't long before a man he met in a bar suggested that he become a bounty hunter. After all, the 'ware was especially suited for the roll, was it not? The man, soon revealed to be named Kalter, gave Alexei the name of a man he needed found. From there it was as though he had found the perfect line of work.
All good things must come to end though and Alexei ended up hunting a serial killer. His augs, though useful, proved to not be enough. Alexei returned to Kalter with the news that the target had escaped. Kalter had a solution for Alexei. He provided him with Alexei's first dose of Woad, and told him to get close to the killer and use it. Alexei won the battle, and collected on the bounty, but from then on was never without Woad.
