Got blocked by garula last night with my level 8 thief party.

Chipping away 7-10 damage a hit is so tedious.  White mage was so much nicer because healing staff and morning star.

Did you steal Mythril Knives from Y burns Wyverns? You should be able to do 48-57 per hit with them, and they're common steals. You can find two wyverns 70% of the time on 7th floor.

Also level 8 seems a bit low in there. Perhaps level up a bit? At level 10 you will be able to do 80-95 a hit (except with Lenna who'll be doing 64-76), which makes it a lot easier.

Also I'm starting another random natural run. I peeked at my jobs from the get-go this time, and this time I was able to get a fire and earth job (ninja and samurai), so this should be a lot funner.

Erk.  Garula has stopped me too.  Lvl 12 thief party, farmed the mithril daggers but he deals way too much damage.  Am just gonna grind a few more levels and see if that helps.  Anyone have success please lemme know!

On reflection, Knight Berserker X Berserker has been very common this year. I got it with Monk, Regal got it with Summoner, friend of mine got it with Geomancer...

Also, don't just spam attacks. IIRC he has a double hit counter, one of the hits inflicting HP leak. However, normally, he's fairly slow, and just hits once. So, hit once or twice, spam potions to heal back up. You could probably do it at 8, its just a long and tedious battle. Also, the Elf Cape helps. If there is one thing you take away from this Fiesta, its that the Elf Cape and Guardian daggers are god tier items up until the Cleft.

So, in random fun and holy crap easy mode facts.

Ship battle vs Gilgamesh. Occasional bane of practice runs depending on how party. This run, BM, GEO, BERSK, Dancer. Expect it to be annoying but not excessively hard. Enkidou shows up. Start to spam it down with Bio's. Geomancer doesn't have Black4 yet, so he's just spamming terrain. Whirlpool gets cast, animation goes, don't actually think anything of it. Then Enkidou just dies. That's right. Enkidou isn't heavy, so HP got set to 1-9, and HP leak ate the rest of it. Was not expecting that easy of a fight.

Well, I guess Im gonna try this out and stuff again. Failed it last year (So many combinations of restrictions sure did suck all fun out of it.)

Random for my first run though. Then I guess If I still got the drive I'll do a natural BERSERK risk. It'd probably be pretty fun.

Yeah I forgot about that.  That should let me pass.  I'm pretty sure I came close even with just daggers because of potion spam.(Garula is at about 45 mins)  I kept my thieves front row at first to get some damage built up and trigger his second phase, then switched them to back row to deal with the counter spam.

Edit: Welp, I've got Thief, and now blue mage as jobs. Poooooootentially useful. At least I can 750 break it.

Garula was pretty close there!  Took over 30 potions and 4 elixirs and I had no more meds left, but the team managed to stab the dumb elephant to death with shiny knives.  Now got Berserker.  Guess I might run into some probs, but for now Butz is leading an entourage of cat suited maniacs and they're stomping everything.
