Summoner battle techniques:

REMORAH. SLYPH SLYPH SLYPH SLYPH SLPYH ETHER SLYPH SLYPH VICTORY!

*does his Victory dance, spinning a giant sword around or something*
I would have passed on every summon you can get till the end. Ifrit will cover a lot of it, then you get titan, who is extraordinarily buff, then you can just go to the various end game ones, and spam call, for free, on everyone.

My internet started working again so I began streaming again. Although Twitch.tv died today so I'm hoping some of my recordings are still saved!

Party, currently about to enter the forest of Moore: White Mage, Mystic Knight, Ranger, Mystic Knight.

Fork Tower is mandatory, it seems! The crystals might be a bit difficult, though...

You have access to Cure 3, Drain, Berserk, Shell, and Reflect. Two mystic knights? What is your fourth job? Anyway. Mystic knight, use drain sword, attack. White mage, Shell up, and then, a choice. Cast berserk on the mystic knights to double output, or reflect em up to block fire and aero, or just spam cure 3s. The ranger? Throw out hi potions and help buff up if he's got enough white magic levels.

But, random doesn't double up.

Well, the OP says L2U has... Wind (White Mage), Water (Thief), Fire (Ranger) . L2U, did you misunderstand, or are you using job fair or something? You have to have at least one of every job that was picked for you at all times, barring the short periods where the party contains less than 4 members.

I did have to use job fair to buy my way out of Thief (and I opted to take Mystic Knight because what are the chances of getting another one of those right), because White Mage/Thief only for Byblos basically broke my mind.

But, random doesn't double up.

I've heard the algorithm for regrand changed this year (it allowed doubles last year), so it's probably a side effect of the job fair.

Yep, my fault for failing to update the OP.

Anyway, back to actually working on the Second World.

Mystic Knight is a very good class for inflicting elemental damage, so can serve as a source of magic damage during fights.

Beastmaster can be useful for applying 1 off status effects, and can be somewhat effective against certain enemies (such as the Crystal Dragon)

Adding on, with the Monk you have 1 large body that can take a lot of damage. Regardless of Circumstances this is a good thing.

Overall, could be worse. You didn't end up with a Berserker, first off, and the next job is almost guarenteed to be somewhat useful (being either a Dragoon, a Samurai, or a Dancer). The only weak area you have is healing, and that will be handled with time as you acquire the gold to afford 99 High Potions and as much Elixirs as money can buy.

Rebecca's next job will either be Samurai or Dragoon. Dancer is in the 750 category. Beastmaster makes everything go easy, up until the cleft. Then it loses a bit, but its not BAD. Mystic Knight is AMAZING. Not so much call for Pysch, and with the party there is minimal chance of being able to do Fork Tower for Flare and Holy, but status effects on command and drain for spamming attack and not dying, its not too bad. Actually, I THINK there may be a way to do Fork Tower, if you can figure out which creature casts reflect or big guard or something when released.

Protip: Go to the pirate cave and capture goblins for Flare.

Mystic Knight is as good as if not better than a black mage.  You lose rods (which are mainly used for trivializing World 1 and the occasional lategame Wonder Wand shenanigans) and MT spells (mostly useful for random encounters and the occasional boss gimmick), but your single target damage skyrockets (and inflicts instant death when it hits a weakness on anything that isn't marked heavy), you've got much more fun armor to play around with, and most of all, status spellblades ignore magic evade.  The vast majority of bosses, including two parts of Neo-Exdeath, have some easily cheesed status weakness.

Beastmaster may not be that useful in random encounters, but if you know what you're doing he's got access to most effects in the game, even if playing Natural severely nerfs his Pokemon cannon (and means that you can't trivialize Omega with !Calm).  !Control should also make leveling a non-issue once you hit World 2 (use it on Shield Dragons in the sealed castle for 10k exp)

Rebecca's next job will either be Samurai or Dragoon. Dancer is in the 750 category. Beastmaster makes everything go easy, up until the cleft. Then it loses a bit, but its not BAD. As long as you're not playing the iOS version, you can equip the left side party with reflect rings and absolutely nothing will be able to touch them.  For Omniscient, you can just let the game run while he impotently empties his entire stock of MP onto your party, leaving him unable to cast reset while you wail on his nerd ass.

IIRC !Release is based on the level of the captured monster rather than the caster, so even though goblins cast Flare it's only going to deal ~900 ST damage.

I'm an idiot.  You don't have to wait for Omniscient to use up his MP.  Just have your mystic knight wail on him with the Mute spellblade.
