When you are close to a shipyard, press B. it allows you to manually add and remove blocks, as well as scale them. That is how I build my Enterprises

Well, during my mission of exploration, I discovered a new specie. They call themselves... klingons.

In this screenshot you can see Spaghetti's Bird of prey.
of course, we are shooting at each other :P

Whew. This can be a helluva lotta fun when you get into it. Got a few screenies myself (fairly big):

This was my first meeting with Andrea, who rather showed up my awful Enterprise-esque thing as shown:

I hate that I can't play 90% of these games.   :'(

(No, I don't dual boot. And Wine doesn't really work.)

I decided to make a copy of the Voyager. However, I used much more trinium than I thought I would, and I ran out. So, it is half trinium half naonite, and it is flatter than I wanted it to be.
I am therefore resuming my  quest to the middle, to gather more resources for my ship building needs.

Thats the price you pay for using a Mac.

(Well that and the literally higher prices for lower end components)

Regardless, that doesn't have anything to do with the extra hour or two it takes for indie developers to learn a new toolkit, or find a cross-platform engine, using SDL+OpenGL to make their games. It's not like they are pushing graphics hardware envelopes and so need to be tied to DirectX.

Heck, as much as I'm annoyed by Java it is cross platform.

So perhaps my question is: Hobby developers - why tie yourself to a platform? Even Dwarf Fortress is cross platform!

Ok I didn't put too much effort into it but I think that the cross reactor exhaust is a nice touch.

I think that having too many sectors explored is slowing the game down...
