I approve of asking about the errand, asking about Clover, and Descan's thing.
However, I'd like to also suggest a simpler action:
Ask him what we seem to be, and what was so fascinating about us.He cut himself off
mid sentence to take a closer look at us, so he clearly saw
something. Whatever it was apparently lost its appeal pretty quickly, but that actually works in our favor- it implies that whatever he saw gave him more answers than questions.
We've been in such a hurry to throw around our status as precognizant and alien that we've forgotten to ask him about it alongside our telling. We went through the same thing with Vivec, pretty much. We did have information he wanted, but he had information we needed as well.
I'm sure there's something else important to ask him as well, but nothing immediately comes to mind. He could theoretically tell us a huge amount about a massive number of things, but he's probably got better things to do and we're not in a position to take advantage of very much.
Finally, I hate to go off topic from the current issue, but I've recently gained some interesting (if, again, not very immediately relevant) information.
Some time ago somebody mentioned that they thought the PCs were patterned after ponies. I believe this is correct. Their explanation wasn't very detailed at the time, however, so I thought I'd elaborate.
Clover the Clever is probably Twilight Sparkle, a magically gifted unicorn and Princess (effective Queen or Goddess Queen) Celestia's apprentice. Both are very good with magic, and Twilight played a character called "Clover the Clever" in a play at one point. Twilight's also quite studious; I don't know if Clover matches that, but she had risen in the Mage's Guild quite quickly.
That party elf in the pink robe is probably Pinkie Pie, a random and silly earth pony who loves parties and sweets. Pinkie Pie is considerably more manic than the elf was, but she's constantly throwing parties and wants to be friends with everyone. The elf throwing a party and putting a drink in our hands the first time she saw us matches that.
The Fighter's Guild Nord is probably Fluttershy, an extremely timid pegasus with a very strong affinity with animals. Fluttershy is probably shyer and more timid than the Nord was, but the basic concept matches. Leading the rats out of town rather than killing them matches as well- he didn't want to harm them, knew pillows would be good for their teeth, and was somehow able to lead them out of town without harming them or being harmed.
Unfortunately, that's where things get hazy. Rainbow Dash, a pegasus I'm not sure how to explain, could have been almost any of Awesomeicus, SexyWithers, or that Balmora berserker. Awesomeicus is the most likely, since she's obsessed with being and looking cool, and is generally irreverent and impatient. SexyWithers is a poor fit, but she's irreverent and has a distaste for frilly, faffy things that her friends enjoy, so if they were all playing Morrowind I could see Rainbow refusing to RP at all. Balmora Butcher should be reasonably self evident for the same reasons.
Meanwhile, we've got Applejack, a hard-working rustic earth pony, and Rarity, a diva and fashion expert unaccounted for, from the Mane characters. It's possible there's connections there I'm just not seeing- Applejack is freakishly strong, for instance, so potentially she could have been the Balmora Butcher, but it's a weak connection that doesn't line up anywhere else. This is also not touching on anything fanfic, which is probably a nigh-infinite pool of traits and events.
Which leads us all to the ultimate question: Does this matter? It's possible this is incredibly important, and the key to figuring out what "PCs" are or what they're like. It's also possible LB just patterned the after ponies on a whim, and this doesn't help us except in predicting overt character traits of some PCs we meet.
