~~Chapter 1~~

The bar was filled with punks, off-duty guards, youths and blades for hire. Behind the counter stood Harald, the elderly businessman who turned into bar owner ten years ago. His eyes often glanced at the door, and when a five of newcomers went inside, he smiled widely. Two humans, two numans and a Myrkh clergyman of sorts. When they approached the bar, Harald clapped his hands.

"I'm glad you've accepted my job offer. Fancy a drink? Synthale? Pink Cosmos? Blackhole? Maybe a glass of water if you don't like alcohols? On the house, of course."

Judas Chetwynd, Alden Blanc, Jacob Two Rivers, Thelfin Almondar and Dan Roberts are in!

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Meh, not exactly into fancy drinks, but what is the job?"

[Xanmyral]

[Don't have a picture, working on that.]

Alden looked at the barman, cybernetic eyes glancing the man over. Yeah, this is the place. He settled his bulk in a nearby chair by the bar. "Something strong."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Judas was a bit worried about leaving his wyrm, Pratchett, outside, but as he couldn't fit through the entrance he would just have to wait out there.

"I'll take a synthale."
"Can you tell us more about this job?"

A young looking lad speaks up

:"I'll have a Pink Cosmos, you guys know where the A&E is if I keel over?"

[Haspen]

The barkeep poured drinks into mugs for the three; bright blue synthale for Judas, bubbly pink syrup for Jacob, and dark green drink with brown powder on top for Alden.

"Synthale, Pink Cosmos, Wasteland, as ordered. Toilets are in the back." He said and rubbed his hands together.

"As for the job - the storage room allocated for by bar in the Warehouse District, unfortunately, got a small rat infestation. And unfortunately, these rats are rather violent and tough-looking, not to mention armed. I've of course asked the Army for help... 'We will take care of this' was what they said two mnoths ago. And last month. And two weeks ago as well. I'm not Mu, my patience is limited."

"So, like you heard from my guy - two thousand credits for cleaning up that rat infestation."

[Xanmyral]

Alden accepts the strong drink with a nod, indulging in it as he listens to the barkeep's explanation about the 'rats.'

"Price sounds good now as it did then. How small is 'small'? Exterminators like to know how many they have to put down."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Four hundred for each of us. I can drink to that."

"Alden asks a good question though. How big, and do you know how many?"

[Haspen]

"Oh, can't be more than ten of those rats. Not of a very impressive variety, too.

[SeriousConcentrate]

Judas took a drink.

Sounds like the easiest 400 I ever made...
"All right. As soon as Dan decides whether or not he wants a drink - and the rest of us finish ours - we can get right on that."

[Praefectus Screptum]

"Sounds like a easy job to me. When can we get started?"

Any job where I get free booze is a job a best job. In fact, I have a feeling this is the beginning of a great friendship.
Y'know what, as today's a good day, let's see what'cha got I'll have your speciality... or failin' that surprise me.

[Haspen]

"Specialty, eh? That will be Harald's Shot." With those words, he poured some synthale on the bottom, then some lime green alcohol, and then sprinkled some golden dust on top of it.

"Swallow as fast as possible, otherwise it will burn your mouth and throat. As for the job - I can give ya my keycard for the door and you can go deal with those 'rats'... about right now, really."
