The year of 1144 was only the beginning of a brutal civil war that was to come. While most, including the regent Scapheap, avoided making any outright hostile intentions known House Helthera declared an attack on House Salyar and House Fisheade over some violation of Helthera culinary rulings regarding the serving of squid. As any Atlantian Historian could tell you the Atlantian nobility circa 1144 were very uppity about their serving rituals.
