It was hector for me, I don't believe it changes. Makes no goddamn sense, hoxton was in jail before PD2 even started. I can kind of, sort of, believe him setting you up to get rid of you and tie up loose ends, but selling out to the cops?! He's the head of his own criminal empire (thanks to you) why would he go to the cops?

Overkill probably picked him because he's the least used contractor (even vlad was in the PD2 christmas song), he had nothing to do with the hoxton breakout, picking someone who was not even in the game at all would annoy some people, and they had no new content planned for him... not because it made any ingame sense.

Maybe the tapes laying around help explain it, but I couldn't hear them over the gunfire

Edit: Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think they already planned for hector to betray you at some point but not over hoxton - watchdogs someone tipped the cops off, firestarter the cops are right there instantly unlike every other map in the game (except big oil D1), he makes you tape yourself burning the money on D3 (evidence!), rats the cops are tipped off on D1 and sometimes even tipped off for day 2, and know you are coming for the mendozas in D3.

The only part that does not make sense is hoxton, and the only reason hoxton came back was because of unexpected fan demand... so they probably just retconned it into an existing idea of hector betraying you over something else.

Edit: Yeah it did seem easy and short too but I can't really blame them too much, they were on a very strict deadline... I don't know if they actually expected to hit the hox revenge goal (I know I didn't expect to hit it)

Yeah, it was Hector for me too. Guess it is static. You are probably right about him being already planned to betray the gang, but was probably shoehorned into the whole Hoxton thing.

Guess the deadline does explain it being short and a bit lackluster. Maybe it's different if you stealth it, but I just went in guns blazing.

Necroing the thread because a big update just hit.

Notable things are:
-The price of the game and that of quite a few pieces of DLC has been permanently reduced.
-A new XP system that is based on objectives completed rather than a set ammount for each heist (so you get less XP if you burn the meth lab in rats, for example).
-A new (and free) loud-only heist, the Meltdown, in which you must attack the same warehouse from shadow raid in order to steal...

I liked this new heist quite a bit. It includes vehicles and the murkywater mercs as enemies.

The new heist is pretty fun. I haven't played in a long time. Did they tone down cloakers? They just seem a lot easier to kill than I remember.

Shadow Heist or whatever caps at 100k experience instead of 2.1mil until Overkill figures out how to handle ECM rush
