But the free heists are free, and no one is forcing you to buy the DLC? I'm just not sure where the issue is I guess.

and I highly doubt they are going to not release content they have presumably been working on for a while (given that they are apparently planning to release everything in a period of slightly over a week, it has to be basically finished already), so even if not enough people give them money I reckon they'll release it at some point anyway
I'm guessing that if the goal isn't reached it'll be released as paid dlc, rather than free.

HYPE TRAIN!
Dunno about you guys, but I'm in it for the Mini-Gun.
Maniacle laughing for EVERYONE!
MWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

Oh god, After all the hype train failures they had in the past they literally just name this one the hype train, and tell us we need hype train fuel to get it going.

Overkill has enormous balls, I'll give them that. I don't even really play anymore and I'm tempted to buy the $5 pack anyway because this promotion amuses me so much. GG overkill, GG, I am truly impressed.

re: rewards, I'm sure the rewards we don't hit will just become pay DLC. This is an interesting alternate way of funding it - mask and weapon DLCs probably don't cost them that much, so if they sell lots of them and make tons of money they can afford to release the other stuff free. If they don't sell enough, they just release it as pay DLCs.

It's an interesting experiment in game funding anyway, it's a little bit like F2P games subsidizing the free players with cosmetic and convenience items from the cash shop.

Oh, I have no problem with the whole concept. It's mostly the limited edition secret DLC - it just feels incredibly cash grabby, especially given the price being ~ 3 DLCs. Matter of principal thing.

Doesn't mean I don't approve of the thing overall, but it feels slightly too like big company bullcrap for my taste.

Yeah, I kind of worry it will backfire on them - no matter what the secret item is a lot of people are going to complain and whine about how they payed $20 for a (widget) that's useless to them, or a mask they hate. Being limited time and keeping it secret just seems like they are trying to trick people into buying it.

Then again, people whine about EVERYTHING they release so I guess it's not that much different.

Uhhh, I'm pretty sure that they stated that all of that stuff will be free if we get it.

I'm fucking excited for Hoxton's Revenge. TIME FOR SOME PAYDAY[/]BACK

Also, is it just me...

Or were those the national guard?

What they're suggesting above is that, if the goals aren't reached, then that's probably what they'll do. If they reach the goal, free, if they don't, probably paid later.

Infamy update is set for march 5th, they haven't really given any info about what the new infamy tiers will contain...but I don't even care, just making my number higher is enough for me (I'm everything wrong with gaming, I admit it).

They also pushed back the 10% bonus EXP per objective till after march 5, so V-100 players can take advantage of it too - nice little bonus.

Finally they also confirmed the swat vat turret is NOT the new enemy from crimefest (so we are getting van + something else), and that the completely overkill secret item is a cosmetic thing of some sort that won't give any advantage.

ARISE FROM YOUR MONTH-LONG SLUMBER, THREAD!

After figuring, finally, out, why my computer was running way below specs (it rhymes with 'duckton of fust') I finally got into 2.

Those are all friendlies. On Deathwish. Most likely HAAAAX, because even weirder things were happening on a Shadow Raid later, and one guy went mysteriously AFK the round before.

But I've been earning levels fast enough that I was barely scraping the cash to buy the skills; I'd level up like three-four times per job, because the guys were playing Overkill/Deathwish maps.

Welp, whilst the hackers may make leveling faster, they kinda suck the fun from it.

And yeah, once you get into the higher tier skills for the first time, money becomes more of a limiting factor than exp. Then at later levels exp becomes limiting again.

Also, as this is back:

INFAMY UPDATE TOMORROW!!

All the games up to that point were legit; then in one a guy went AFK for a couple minutes, and in the very next round... that happened.
And next round, on Shadow Raid, alarms would auto-detrigger, people would teleport, that kinda thing. And after that round, I got kicked, the host probably thought it was me.

Had it 6 months, III-79 :P

Probably a side effect of having a regular bunch of mates I play with.
