I think they should add some sort of consumables you have to rebuy after you used them. Just to make money more worthwhile. After a while you don't get enough XP or drops to spend your money so why not spend it on armor piercing rounds or even grenades?

To be fair, there are mission assets that are pretty much one-use consumables. But if you've already got lots of cash from doing missions, there's little incentive to spend that cash to make subsequent missions easier.  :(

The one big cash sink: respeccing. If memory serves, you regain all your skill points but only half your cash. That means it can cost a lot of money to respec a high-level character. Not really a factor if you happen to like your skill build though...

I revised my "Rhino" build:

http://goo.gl/SqCBXt

Highlights:
Maximum survivability from being able to wear the best armour and both constant (e.g. Bulletproof) and situational damage reduction (e.g Underdog).
Supply ammo to the team
Satchel charges for quick jobs.
Drill fully upgraded except for Ace Silent Drilling for a more stealthy approach
Weapon focus: Shotgun as primary, assault rifle as secondary, and melee (able to knock down Shield and then finish him off with shotgun pellets on the face)

Any feedback?

EDIT: Just realise there are only a single shotgun, pistols, and SMGs available as secondary weapon. The skills for assault rifles in Technician tree may be a waste but I need them to unlock higher tier skills. May just relocate them to Ace Improve Crafting and Ace Silent Drilling.

This is assuming Locomotive 12G, the only shotgun available as secondary weapon is not as good as the shotguns available as primary weapon. Opinion on best shotgun?

I've read it's a 10% chance. Doesn't seem worth it.

Oh wow this game is fun. Just stealthed the jewelry job perfectly. (Well, I did shoot a couple cops and a civilian who was out of bounds, but still good.)

Here I am level 36. I havent done a successful job that wasnt fucking jewelry store in 2 days. Two whole days. Every time I start one either the host kicks me for no reason, everyone around me dies in 30 seconds, everyone is inept, the game won't let me join a game or just randomly boots me or something fun like a bulldozer teleports through a wall and kills everyone, i fuck up and die and my whole team just lets me go into custody and the host kicks me once everyone starts dying (happened 4 times). Ive wasted hours on heists where either the host just randomly kicks everyone on the last day or everyone just leaves because they screw up or everyone dies repeatedly.

And whats most infuriating is then I have to look through the slop of jewelry store or ukranian job just to find a decent mission. I mean I dont even want to play at this point because I know I'll just be wasting my time in the most tremendous manner. IF I can even join since I get errors on 90% of rooms.

Simple solution: host your own game. No risk of being kicked, no risk of the host being a jerk/having a brick for a PC and crashing, your choice of interesting missions, and you can kick anyone that is terrible (if you're that kind of host).  :)

The game is waaaaaay more fun if you find other people to play with. Preferably miked, but I spent ~2 hours tonight with a group of 3 other randoms that, in that entire time, typed a combined total of 1 line of chat. It was still damn fun - we ran a few jewelry stores and nightclubs, came within inches of failing a bank heist, and finished with a perfect Watchdogs mission. Don't think we failed a single mission in that time, and I earned ~8 skill points towards acing Bulletproof, plus almost a million in total spending cash.

Add me on Steam as Knight of Fools. I enjoy playing for the sake of playing, and prefer a variety of missions over grinding the same ones over and over again. Even then the group makes the game. As long as everyone's having fun it's all good.

In other news, I just solo'd Framing Frames on Overkill. I had to restart quite a bit and it took be the better part of an hour, but I eventually finished every day without setting off any alarms. It's impossible to do without smooth talker, body bags, and dominator (Which I now have by the way). The first mission would have been easier with the ECM hacking thing, but maybe I'll get that some other time.

Some things I learned: Dominator only works on the first cop you do it on. After that, you have to kill a certain number of officers before it works. Keep in mind this applies across all players - You can't have four masterminds dominating a guy each (Something I hope they change, honestly). Also, beginning the domination seems to cause the counter to reset, so killing the dude after you begin dominating him will prevent you from dominating until a certain number of kills are met again.

Guards and cameras don't notice guards you take hostage. Useful if you need to handle a guard that's in front of a camera. They do need to fully notice you, so wait until that happens before mashing "f" or you'll be shot while ineffectively trying to point at them.

Smooth talker seems to be consistently allow you to talk down four pagers now. Before it would vary between three and four. I'm pretty sure that only smooth talkers can use the pagers though.

Spoiler: Mission Spoilers (click to show/hide)

In the end I got a $800k pay day and a tiny smidgen of experience since there was no actual combat. Not really worth it for that, but it was satisfying doing it all by myself.

I've heard that destroying too many cameras does indeed set off an alarm, though I assume that doesn't happen if you've shut down the security room guard. Also, destroying a camera may result in a guard being called to investigate, and if a guard spots a destroyed camera (either the guard that was called to it, or any random patrol), they'll call an alarm for 'vandalism'.

Also, if anyone's interested in a few heists, feel free to add me as "Thexor" on Steam. I've got my Shaped Charges, so any jobs from this point on are purely for fun. (Not that the game was a grind before or anything!)

Well, the cameras in the 3rd day of Framing Frames are all automated or watched off-scene. There is no security room in that mission. That's what I wasn't sure about.

Kaje85 - Managed to get my shaped charges last night, so happy to blow safes! Not sure what skill line to work on next, Mastermind seems fun with the ability to control cops but I'm also wondering whether it'd be nice to have the rotary saw ability - that coupled with the C4 would be a superb combination.

On the note of crashes...
Apparently the Steam overlay can effect the chance of crashing. Turning it off I have had less crashes, but makes joining my friends games annoying due to having to tab out to access the friendslist...

Had a really weird bug for almost an hour earlier, I couldn't join any games ('Waiting For Game...') until I'd restarted twice and restarted the router three times.

That happens to me from time to time but I never need to restart, just have to find one I can join.

Also, I've just got C4 in case anyone wants to (cheaply) grind Ukrainian Job and Night Club. :p
