Meltdown is buggy as all hell for my crew:

  • The entire party except the host got kicked while driving a full team of forklifts to the train when one of us started unloading. The only idea we have is that it was HoxHUD's anti-bag duplication system. When we got back, the void had eaten half the forklifts, along with four of the six warheads.
  • The host, driving a forklift, clipped through the ramp that goes down to the dock and crashed.
  • The other two players crashed four times while driving forklifts around in the warehouse.

There are also other oddities, such as how cloakers will spin your camera around in a forklift seat when they try to attack you but will always fail to connect, then freeze in place until somebody else aggros them. Tasers, however, are perfectly capable of tasing people out of forklift seats even though they disconnect the tase almost immediately afterwards.

Yeah, there are some bugs, but I don't think it's HoxHud that does it.

Here's what I've observed: once you put a bag inside a vehicle, only the host can take it out. If anyone else tries, the bag will simply vanish. If you keep trying to take bags, the game will think you are using a hack and kick you. I have yet to see the second point, but I don't doubt it could've happened. As for cloakers, it's not specific to meltdown. In armored transport, cloakers can't get inside the trucks, but can still target you, so your camera still spins around, but they just stand staring at the vehicle.

Huh. I've had no issue taking bags out of the car with my mate hosting, nor did any of the other players have any issue.

The issue I have had was a crash getting into the backseat, but I haven't had that again yet.

I experienced a thing where two people could get into the same seat of the car if they tried to get in at the same time, but one of them would not have their camera move when the car drived off and would crash upon trying to get out of the car. Also we got the achievement for not using the car while all of us had indeed used the car multiple times.

Haven't had any problems with moving bags around.

Ah, that sounds like the issue I had with the car. Hadn't noticed anyone else trying to get in, so didn't make the connection.

Meltdown is buggy as all hell for my crew:

The only idea we have is that it was HoxHUD's anti-bag duplication system. When we got back, the void had eaten half the forklifts, along with four of the six warheads.

It is hoxhud, surprise once again it's causing problems. It kicks the player and deletes the bag making the heist unwinnable.

New XP system is an excellent idea but it needs some serious tweaks. Most heists went down in XP a lot unless you get all the bags, but getting all the bags takes more time so the overall EXP is reduced (sometimes significantly). Not a bad thing per se, except hox breakout with it's 0 bags didn't get nerfed, so it's now EVEN BETTER at being the farm map... considering how good it was before, that's stupid. The infinite bag maps might need to be nerfed a little, but honestly I don't have a big problem with them paying out good, because they get hard after a while.

The new heist is fun, but man... outside is sniper hell. They need to limit the sniper spawns or something, since if you get the crate inside you don't go out there to kill them and they just build up and then as soon as you walk out you are getting constantly sniped from every direction. Add the EXP change in, so you need to get lots of bags to get good exp... and the huge drive to get those bags and the cash/exp is really bad too which is unfortunate.

Shadow Heist or whatever caps at 100k experience instead of 2.1mil until Overkill figures out how to handle ECM rush

I wish they would just nerf ECM rush and get it over with. All stealth maps (except the few unrushable ones) have garbage payouts, all because of ECM rush. It's not even an interesting or fun game mechanic, and it ruins stealth for anyone that wants to do it the "correct" way so it just needs to go away.

Unfortunately, ECM rush is pretty much the only thing ghost has going for it anymore (other then fast hands/sprinter which barely count since they are T1/T2) so I don't know what they are going to do about that.

Ghost is good when doing PURE stealth. The problem is pubs have an issue with stealth, so if there is a chance its gonna break, you don't go ghost, and it ALWAYS breaks except on stealth only maps. Camera loop, picking, and the ecm door popper skills are all wonderful, but far outclassed by non stealth options if its gonna go loud anyway.

Someone posted this: http://pastebin.com/eu6ZUS8W

It seems reasonably accurate (note all exp values are multiplied by difficulty so they might seem really low)

TL;DR version is that loud gives more exp, sometimes a LOT more exp, escaping soon after the map starts (usually ~3 minutes) cuts your exp a lot on some heists, bags don't always matter, and hox breakout is really, really good.

There's also some counter-intuitive things in there, for example on watchdogs you actually get MORE exp if you let the truck die and take the chopper.

.... I don't know wtf they were thinking, it's so over complicated, all they had to do was add a small amount of exp per loot bag and keep everything else the same and it would have been ok.

Edit: I'm an idiot and just noticed Aedel posted this yesterday (in a post I even quoted), sorry

Based on those numbers, it seems that xp-wise, loud is the way to go. RIP stealth.

Necroing this because a new heist is upon us. It is a paid heist, apparently 7 dollars (steam displays regional currency to me, so can't be sure) and can be done loud or in stealth. Reviews so far are positive, but it's still pretty early to actually tell.

Well, you can always demo it by joining a random game where a host is hosting it.

Only done one play through, but loving Alesso. Pretty long, but the time flew by - goals are very active for the most part, and there's one bit where you make it the most awesome gig ever (in loud at least.)
Possibly too long to make the rewards worth it, but if you've been playing long enough to be minmaxing grinding then you probably don't really need said rewards :P

I didn't like the button part too much. It was a bit dull there. It is also hell if you are using heavy armour since the level is huge.

Curious feature of the heist: anything with Alesso's name or face cannot be damaged. No bullet holes, nothing.

Lastly, I really, really didn't like the heist's music.
