I think you might be able to get to the other skills now, although I haven't calculated it too carefully.

The level cap was apparently raised to 30. This gives you a maximum of 36 skill points to spend. (At least, I'm pretty sure it's 36.)

* Shaped Charges (C4) requires 30 Technician points to unlock tier 5, then (4+8) = 12 points to unlock shaped charges, for a total of 42 points. Not an option, sadly.

* The OVE9000 Saw requires 30 Enforcer points to unlock tier 5, then 4 points to unlock the saw, for a total of 34 points. This one is obtainable, assuming you spend all but 2 skill points on Enforcer skills.

* Safecracking has the same requirements as Shaped Charges - 30 Ghost points for tier 5, then 4+8 = 12 points to get Safecracking. Not available in beta right now.

Short answer: Nope, still stuck with drills for safes. It is, however, now possible to get the silent drill upgrade in the Technician line (32 points required), which also gives a bunch of other upgrades. You can also now get the OVE9000 saw, which doesn't open safes but does handle a bunch of other objects. Neither of these was available before the level cap upgrade.

All calculations above done with the Payday 2 Skill Calculator.

I played with a guy who unlocked the OVE9000 Saw. We robbed a bank and he opened the two ATMs, and promptly ran out of saw blades. There were still four more saw points in each ATM and he had to use an ammo bag to get new saw blades. The ATMs did give out 40K or so each, though, so that was nice.

Overall not worth losing your primary weapon for, unless you're doing a deposit box run and everyone brings ammo bags. You find gold worth 60K in some deposit boxes.

I find that my skills are dedicated to getting myself and my team as many combat bonuses as possible, though. I start with the stamina enhancing skills in Ghost and Mastermind, and work my way through the low level skills that decrease recoil and such. With about 10 skill points you can sprint forever and at a very high speed.

When the full version comes out, though, I'll probably go pure ghost at first just for Safe Cracking and the Lucky Charm skill. Those are awesome.

My goal, just need 44 levels and 2.3 million bucks I think. Mastermind 0, Enforcer 0, Technician 0, Ghost 44

No, you will be 10 skill points short with the lvl 30 cap. Here is the tool to figure it out. On the right side you can set your level, so it will give you the right amount of skill points to play with. Mastermind 0, Enforcer 0, Technician 34, Ghost 0

However, it's one of the most useful builds for the beta, with the faster drill speeds and the sentry at the end.  I still prefer Ghost and Mastermind for support, but for solo I would do this any day of the week.

oh no! I thought it was august 13th!

That was interviewers mistaking Goldfarbs August 13 as August 13th and not August 2013.  He clarified that in a tweet when asked.

Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

Dang, the date I heard was the 14th. Oh well.

I'm really trying to swear off of the Beta so I don't burn myself out on it. Unfortunately my friends keep inviting me to play and I can't say no.
