I've seen Anodyne mentioned so many times before... Has anyone played it? Is it really worth getting? I've never been a huge fan of the Zelda-style gameplay, but if the story and atmosphere are really good I could get over it.

I've only played Anodyne on a tablet and the controls were frustrating there so I stopped playing rather early in. I don't know how it plays on a computer.

Anodyne has a decent atmosphere and theres some interesting 'break the game on purpose' mechanics later. I enjoyed it anyway (maybe cause I like breaking stuff?). Unsure its worth it just by itself though, if theres nothing else you want at the higher price.

Groupees Be Mine 12 Bundle looks decent. I'm listening to the music from it now, it's actually pretty good!

For $1 you get Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves, BeatBlasters III, Gun Meta, and Chuck G and the Napkins music.
For $3.50 you get Half-Minute Hero, Echo of the Wilds, Epigenesis, A-Train 8, and a mystery game to be revealed later.

The thing that did it for me is Echo of the Wilds. The trailer really sold me. I've just finished downloading it, about to give it a try. I'll let you know if it's as worthwhile as it looks.

Atrain 8? That's insulting. 9 has been out for quite some time.

Yes. http://i57.tinypic.com/2hq87ci.jpg The Greenlight system is broken and has been from the beginning. Atrain is just one of many examples of that. Postal 2 is a worst/best example being that it is older than Steam itself. Not that many Greenlit games are new.

The newest version of a video game is not always the best. Certainly, just because a newer version of a game is available doesn't mean that no one wants the older version. And most definitely, at the price of $3.50 for 8 games including several quite highly rated titles, there is no conceivable way this could be considered "insulting."

So far, I'm enjoying Echo of the Wilds, although it's quite difficult. I haven't played too much yet, but it strikes me as a survival game with a very intriguing surreal element that slowly reveals itself. Really liking it so far.

Edit: GAH. Okay, everyone, serious issue. Echo of the Wilds does not have a standard save feature. You have to play and play and play until you find a certain object, then you have to use some of your resources to save the game. Fail to do that, and your save is lost as soon as you quit. Worse still, hitting the ESC key closes the game, no warning or anything. So if you accidentally press ESC (or reflexively hit it trying to close a window), your game is GONE. The web site claims that there is a patch for this that confirms before you quit, but the Groupees version is obviously not the patched version, and there doesn't seem to be any way to get it.

I've sent an email to the developer explaining the situation and asking for a way to get the patched version. I also included my thoughts on why it's a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad thing he's done by not letting us save whenever we damn well please, and why it will lose him money and fans forever. We'll see what he says, although I highly doubt he'll add saving to the game now that it's completed and out and having to find a place to save is built in as one of the things you need to do.

So frustrating. Otherwise, it's SUCH an awesome game.

Groupees has generally been a case where one game is maybe worth the upper minimum price they set. I'm not seeing it in this one. Sang Freud is kinda there but not really. Atrain would be if it had been 9. Nothing else does it for me.

The Sim Groupee bundle has Bridge It and that's about it for good stuff. X Giant games are generally buggy messes that ruin what would otherwise be a decent experience. Police Force is meh and Tycoon games haven't been good in many years. They've been dumbed down over time and they were never that 'smart' to begin with. Some of the old one are fun but most are garbage.

Half-minute hero looked pretty decent when I was watching through an LP of it, for what that's worth.

If you don't like RPG grind then Half-minute hero is the opposite of that, sort. I seem to remember it still being enormous button mashing, just condensed into minutes instead of hours.

Lots of Delta Green stuff in the latest Bundle of Holding.

If you've never heard of it before, it's basically modern-day Call of Cthulhu.

If you've never heard of that, prepare to go insane and die, but not necessarily in that order.

Humble PC and Android is out. Bridge Constructor and ... I don't know but that might be it. The others are going to be things somebody likes. Knights of Pen and Paper would be nice but microtransactions. Blah. You can cheat the necessary ingame coin buy on Android with daxattack.

Bundlestars has a Kalypso bundle which is okay in general. Tropico 3, Jagged Alliance, Disciples 3, and others.

In case anyone's looking to get that just for Tropico 3, might be worth taking into consideration that Tropico 4 is generally an improvement over 3, Tropico 5 is going into open beta very soon (if it isn't already), and therefore Tropico 4 is going to become really cheap and probably put in other bundles as well.
Not saying T3 is a bad game, just thought I'd put that out there.

This looks mighty good. Never heard of Delta Green, but reading just the book titles makes me think this is something very much in my interest.
A question though - is it just me or is there no time countdown? Is the offer over? Why can I still buy then?

Also, there are other interesting bundles over at Bundle Stars - The Hacker Bundle, Reboot 1 seems fine and the second Reboot looks interesting (though you have Disciples 3: Resurection in Kalypso bundle)... and there's even very tempting RPG bundle.

Seriously, who are this guys and why haven't I heard of them before?
