Aquaria involves swimming so there's no "land on this one block" gameplay.

Frozen Synapse is also very much of a highlight of the bundle, if you're into turn-based tactical gameplay :)

And I don't remember Aquaria having terribly twitchy gameplay, to be honest, so you might be good :)

Waking Mars is a gem, definitely :) Had a ton of fun with it!

Agreed with Organ Trail.. things just take so long, it would be much better if there was a speed-up option. Otherwise the game's pretty OK. Turns out I won on my first run, and am wondering whether to try another one or not.....

Definitely not into tactical games. Will probably give Frozen Synapse a miss. I'll give Aquaria a try but I doubt I'll be any good at it. I guess "platforming" isn't the word I'm looking for... The controls look more like one of those arcade-style shooter games or something. Basically, when it comes to anything that involves swimming or flying, I can never play for more than about 30 seconds without dying. I'll give it a shot though. Sometimes games are worth overcoming your handicap with them. I got almost to the end of Cave Story before I had to give up! I'll enjoy Waking Mars plenty, I think, even though it's a platformer - it's just too great a game to not work hard at it. : )

I actually won my first run of Organ Trail as well (on "easy"). I didn't like the last thing you have to do to beat the game. Too much of a "you think you're almost finished well FUCK YOU now you have to sit here another 10 minutes while your character crawls across the screen using clunky controls being chased by zombies HAHAHAHAHA!" If it weren't for that, I'd have a higher opinion of the game. As it stands I might play again, but I'm not sure. I'd be dreading the ending.

Go buy it. Avadon is pretty good and geneforge is awesome, and you get more games than just those as well. Only half of the Avalon games have a steam key, however.

I actually have a rather frustrating issue with all of Spiderweb's games-- they're so expansive, with little hidden stuff everywhere, that I run out of steam about 70% of the way through each game, shelve it, come back, realize I have no idea what I was trying to do before I stopped, restart, repeat. The only game I actually finished was Exile III, back from 2007.

Just bought it. This is terrible. I have so many plans for my spare time this summer, and so little time. I'm trying to write a book. I want to paint and draw more. I'm doing Taiji training 6 hours a day. I want to see my friends and spend time out in the summer air, socializing and drinking beer.

Now I'm going to be chained to my computer for hours on end. I know this will inevitably result in depression and an overall feeling of having wasted my life. And yet... How can I pass up the opportunity to get all these amazing games for $3.68?

I can't, that's how. Shit.

I got the ebook bundle too. I think I have a problem.

If it helps, I've used the feeling of discontentment at playing too many games to stir me into doing other, more creative endeavours. If I manage to pursue them long enough, it feels great and gradually the will to do some productive eventually begins to get the better of you :)

Does anyone know if it's possible to remap the keys in the first Avernum game? My stupid Dell laptop doesn't have a numpad of any kind, not even with the Fn key. I had to remap the keys in DF to move diagonally. I can move in Avernum with the mouse but it has a habit of moving twice when I only click once, making it tough to navigate precisely. I'd rather play with just the keyboard...

I'm giving serious consideration to buying an external keyboard with a numpad purely for gaming purposes...

I use a USB numpad I picked up at a thrift store. Quality pad too. I only have to plug it in when I need it and it's not much bigger than my mouse.

Definitely a different type of game than what you're thinking. The beginning of the game, and the entire vibe of it, really, is all about exploration in the beautiful environment. You will have to fight enemies, but when doing so it's not like an arcade shooter. Projectiles seek out enemies, for example. You just need to swim around and try to dodge things. The game has a very casual feel because it's all about the world you're playing in rather than intense moments of fighting, although it can certainly have that, too. If you haven't yet tried Aquaria just because you're worried you won't be good at it, I'd say that your worries are likely unfounded, but even so, stay bad at the game and just enjoy the beauty of it.

Not exactly a "bundle", but there's a deal on Amazon right now-- buy the Ticket to Ride - USA 1910 DLC for 1.99, get a copy of Ticket to Ride (base), The Maw, and Drip Drip. (All except Drip Drip is Steam. I have no idea what kind of code that gave me.) If you want to make it an even 2.00, you can get two copies of The Maw right now.

OK, until I get my hands on a numpad for gaming I'm skipping the first 3 games and went straight for number 4. I played the Exile series years ago and always thought it was awesome, but never got very far, and eventually totally forgot about it. Avernum is above and beyond. I'm hooked and I've wasted half my day on it.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, everyone needs to get this bundle. I haven't even looked at the newer games yet and I'm already hopelessly addicted. I'll have to set very strict rules for myself about how much time I can spend playing... I'll have to set alarms to ensure I don't completely lose track of time, and force myself to do something productive to earn my gaming time.

If you haven't gotten the weekly bundle, hurry. Get it quick before you run out of time. Give them all of your money (or just a few dollars, which is also enough).
