Bundle Stars has a Magicka Bundle up right now. Base game plus ALL DLC for less than 5 euros. I've never really been too interested in getting this game before, but I have to admit, that's one hell of a deal. I'm sorely tempted to grab it despite my enormous backlog of games.

How popular is this game here? I don't have any real-life friends to play with. Is there anyone on Bay12 who actively plays this game and would be interested in going through it with me, if I get it? Seems a shame to play it solo, since it seems to be focused on teamwork and such.

I also love how many of the reviews on Steam say it's "a great way to ruin friendships."

Humble Flash sale that for whatever reason doesn't send out notifications when it starts unless you opt in to a separate email list. Only 4 hours left.

Pay anything; Overlord and Raising Hell DLC, Operation Flashpoint: Red River and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Rise of the Argonauts
$6+; DiRT Showdown, DiRT 3 and Overlord II

Dropped a dollar on it for Overlord, not interested enough for Overlord 2 yet and the DiRT games do nothing for me. The OFP games are the Codemaster sequels, not related to the Bethesda original or the ARMA series. Rise of the Argonauts looks like rather meh gravy.

Overlords might be worth it. I've got about 5 hours of playtime with the first one from the last few weeks. It's ok. The humour might be a bit off putting. I guess the most sensible thing for any would be buyer would be to watch the first part of a let's play somewhere to see if they dig the gameplay. As I said it's ok. I'll probably finish it in the next few weeks to come. Hasn't really blown my mind so far though. So far the minion controlling and puzzling has been more fun than aggravating.

I play it occasionally and it's definitely much more fun with other people (preferably with a mumble/teamspeak/other voice connection so you can hear all the screaming of your friends when you accidentally kill them [or they kill you]).

That said I would like to state that sometimes it can be a pain getting multiplayer to start up correctly. Once it finally works it tends to keep working, and making sure the person with the best internet hosts helps, but it can still take several attempts to actually get all of the players into the game and properly synced (a fact that is not helped by the inability to connect to a game in progress, meaning that you need to rehost the game every time you want to try again).

That said it's still an awesome game, despite its varied bugs.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Magicka is excellent, but best played multiplayer. Singleplayer is less fun (Only comparatively, it's still very good) because it lacks the absurd chaos that characterizes the multiplayer, and certain areas feel like they're meant to have multiple people there to revive each other. Singleplayer is also somewhat harder, as I don't believe they change the levels between single and multiplayer.

It's a bit buggy and unpolished but the bugs don't detract from the overall experience.

Alright, well I went ahead and got it. Played a little bit of the single player but it's clear I'd be better off with a friend or two to play with. Is there already a thread in the "play with your friends" subforum for Magicka, or shall I start a new one? I'm hoping I can find someone to play with this weekend.

Someone in another thread mentioned Daikatana.

Prepare to weep. If those will be tears of anguish or joy, I don't know.

Most of the games are pretty good, but a few were panned. It being a Squeenix bundle, I would have at least expected them to toss in a suitably ancient Final Fantasy game. That may be planned for later.

That's a pretty big bundle, but it doesn't tempt me all that much.

Steam only.  I still think of Humble as the anti-DRM folks.  (I know that's actually GOG, but that's my perception of Humble.)  Well okay, I've got a lot of games on Steam.  I can deal.

Also, beat the average of eight dollars to get the second row, and fifteen dollars to get the third row.

I'm not going to pay fifteen dollars for Just Because 2, when it's been like fifteen cents during Steam sales.

DE:HR(DC) sticks out, but I'm still not going to pay seven fifty each for it and JC2.

A dollar for Mini Ninjas might be worth it.  But I'd probably actually never play it.

Seems a good Bundle for someone just starting to fill their Steam library, but it's not for me.

Hey, Squeenix is in bed with Ubi, right?  That kills it for me.  I'm still boycotting Ubi.

Sorry about rambling, coffee hasn't kicked in.

Bundle is worth it just for Anachronox.

I'll agree though, lots of games that those who have been playing since these games came out likely already own and a few oddities like JC2 being in the top tier. Then again that's true of most bundles.

Why would they include Hitman 1, 2, and Absolution, but not Blood Money?

Everything else is very "meh" to me.

oh, wow, Daikatana.  the fucking LEGEND.

I think I knew someone who played this game, but they might have just played a demo for it.  I don't think i've ever even HEARD of someone who paid money for it.

I don't think I want that thing stinking up my library, even for the sake of irony.

so they can add it later as a 'bonus'

Because Codename 47 and Silent Assassin are old, and Absolution is crap, while people can still be believed to pay real money for Blood Money. That's why.

It's... not quite a game, but humble bundle is apparently offering a good volume of transformers comics. Anyone have any opinions on 'em?
