I think I'd introduce him to Mr. Flail.

Did I mention that I own a fully functional flail?

:P

My dad collected medieval weapons.

We own 3 or so cavalry sabres, two bows(compound ones, though), he says he has a crossbow somewhere, and a shield, at least two old African spears, 5+ machetes, a handful of ceremonial/decoratice(but functional...) knives/daggers, a kukri, a training sai, a couple whips...

Ah, you lucky non-bastard.

So there's been three fires in this area since the thread started. I've told you guys about the two that affected me most. It's almost to the point where I officially put the thread on "Hold on, I might be on fire" mode between April and November.

I don't suppose you'd mind if I asked you two what you need medieval weapons for? Although introducing a home invader or whatnot to a medieval flail sounds appropriate. Seeing as how it'll be in self-defense, it'd be the perfect time to test your lethal weapon.

I just love how we're all discussing murdering (Counter-murdering?) strategies here. Yeah, this thread can't POSSIBLY be derailed, just a little bit.

I kinda wish I owned a few sharp things, besides kitchen knives and a couple of pocketknives.
Mostly because ye olde timey sharp, pointy things are cool to look at.

I think Ross said he sometimes checks to see if what he writes is physically possible?

Plus they look pretty & feel nice! And they have that whole power ethos & historical importance.
And, for super-nerds, particular design choices developed in different parts of the world for different purposes. (Woo war of the roses & sword customization!)

I need it for the purposes of having material possessions that bring me joy and also serve a purpose. But yeah, main reason is to act out motions. Shit-steel display swords are great for it, too, and I got some free.

But in all honesty, I don't NEED it, just like I don't need the guns I will buy nor do / did I need to take Taekwondo, Kuk Sool, Judo, some MMA from an ex-SF guy, or fencing.  It's just good to be prepared. Same reason I have insurance - I don't need it until I NEED IT.

Oh, and cuz' they're genuine(aka like 2 of the cavalry sabres are from the American Civil War), they're also in really bad shape. At least a few are missing handles.

Flails make kinda terrible weapons, though, in all honesty. They were originally threshing implements...

They're great for what they were made for though: being the most aggravating weapon to defend against possible.

I didn't post the rolls? Crap, I *am* distracted. Here you go, so you know what I'm working with (and congratulations, you didn't die and can win this in the next round!)

Thales:
CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!: 23 (applies to next round)

Jewel:
YOU SHALL NOT PASS!:  19

ATTACK SERVITOR 4:
ATTACK (JEWEL): 12 (Nope!)

Thales - 19 Death damage
Rurail - 15 Death damage
Jewel - 7 death damage

MAGE SERVITOR 3:
TURN INCORP: 27
MOTION: 17 vs 4
DEATH TOUCH (DAETH): 11 vs Natural 1 - 10 HP Death damage, armor decay from Good to Average quality

Current damage/spent MP (subtract this from your totals)
Daeth: 12 HP damage, 18 MP spent
Sylvari: 5 HP damage, 5 MP spent
Thales: 14 HP damage, 20 MP spent
Jewel: 24 HP damage, 12 MP spent
Rurail: 15 HP damage, 9 MP spent

Surviving enemies:

B-3:  Nearly Dead

EDIT: Basically, Jewel and Rurail *did* stop one Servitor; the problem is that it got lucky and got in a good hit. Natural 20's are sometimes terrible.

Also, ouch, Daeth, but the victor of the "take the damage like a champ" goes to Jewel.

Hey RPGeek, keep in mind you're up top & surrounded by life-water.

So, we've got a mage-servitor at full health incorp at the bottom, another one (nearly dead) currently engaged with myself & jewel, and the third is also nearly dead and harassing Daethwin.

Remuthra, think you could use your charge on the one messing with Daethwin?
That'll leave sylvari, jewel & I to deal with the full-health & near-dead.

Xanmyral, I think we both have at least some aptitude with magic. Waddya think we could do?
-Wait for them to re-incorporate, (though they'll spam death-spells..)
-Quick-imbue weaponry?
-Pick out a field of spells..

Like, 1 HP from being dead. I almost put it in a special "1 HP Wonder" status. The other one, facing Daeth, is 3 HP from death.

It's definitely a source of concern because it can smack him for 12 Death damage a hit, but it's one Tier 2 offensive spell away from eating it (Tier 2: 4 HP / 3 MP / autohit).

Didn't go as well as I had hoped, but we managed to kill one and wound two.

Grizz: I think quick imbue may be for the best. Chances are they taught adventurers a method of channeling mana into implements as a form of crude but quick enchantment. Obviously, neither Rurail or Jewel being mages or having magical classes make them not that great at it though, but we just need it for a moment so hopefully it won't go to terribly.

Also, jeez, Jewel took 24 health and is still truckin' just fine.

Yeah, I can try and give him a run-by. Not sure, but the momentum bonuses, the combat buff, the HOLINESS and natural stat advantage together should hopefully counter its cheaty mage armour.
