Yeah, I'll give making a few a shot.

Current Ideas:
- Cunning but Greedy Tactician (Designated Planner/Tactician/Army Commander/Dirty Fighter) Melee/Misc
- The Goddamn Luckiest Bastard Alive (General Good Luck Charm/Quartermaster/Pack Mule Handler) Misc
- BFS Swordsage (Beat Stick/Lightning Fast Beat Stick/Magic Non-User Aficionado/Talking Without Mouth Matching Up) Melee
- Geomancer Engineer (Rapid Fortifications/Reinforcement/Siege Breaker and Maker) Magic
- Old Age Tech Obsessed Medic (Walking First Aid Kit/General Tech Expert/That One Creepy Guy) Misc/Magic

I'll stop at four five.

... Unjustly imprisoned and the GODFIGHT set you free?
I was actually thinking that she'd been free in town for most of it, but thought that it was just another delusion. and nobody noticed her because nobody notices her.
We'll work on the gods. What sort of alignment were you thinking?
Chaotic Good
I can see a casual worship of Ingram.

Not sure on the others.
Casual worship of Vijer actually.

Rock on, best of luck to everyone who enters. I figure, one vote per slot per category, too. My vote will count equal to everyone else's for fairness.

Roll, roll, roll your dice:

Surprise roll, 15. Free bonus round!

Thales Sword - 15
Thales Wings - 21
Thales Wings - 20 + Daeth's +2 Buff = 22

Jewel Bash 10
Jewel Strike 10 + Rurail's 20 = 30 (Instakill)
Jewel Defend 13

Rurail Equipment - 5 (Holy Weapon +1, 5% Accuracy Bonus)
Rurail Support Jewel - Natural 20 + Jewel's 10 = 30 (Instakill)
Rurail Support Jewel - Natural 1

Daeth Dominate - 7 (NOPE!)
Daeth Buff Thales - 22 (not a natural 20, sorry!)
Daeth Ready Counterspell: 21 (not a natural 20, sorry!)

Sylvari RAGE!: 16 (Extra RAGE! action)
Sylvari Sword: 7
Sylvari Sword: 23
Sylvari Sword: 12

Servitor A-1: DEAD! from sword strike
A-2:  5 HP damage. 17 attack versus 13 defense, Thales eats 11 points of Death damage and takes 11 MP damage.
A-3: DEAD! from wings
A-4: Bashed for 8 HP. 15 attack versus 9 defense. Natural 1 by Rurail means he eats 9 Death damage and 9 MP damage instead of Jewel.

S-1: Instakilled!
S-2: Attack 5 versus 30 Defense. Jewel contemptuously knocks the blow aside and its head off in the same motion. DEAD!
S-3: Instakilled!
S-4: Casts Summon Greater Undead: 15 versus 21. Summon failed.

B-1: Natural 20 versus Thales 10+2. Thales' armor prevents all but 1 HP Slashing damage; zero degrade.
B-2: 5 versus Thales 11. Parried.
B-3: 8 versus Rurail's 8. 12 versus 18. Exchange of blows, deflected.
B-4: Natural 20 versus Rurail's Natural 20. 12 versus 12. 7 versus 7. (Holy shit!) Natural 1 versus Natural 20.

Rurail Counterstrike: SECOND Natural 20 in a row!
B4: Instakilled

Rural Natural 20 Chain: THIRD!
A-4: 9 more damage.

Rurail's Natural 20 Chain: Natural 1
Fumble: 5 HP bludgeoning damage from A-4.

A-4: Sylvari whiffs!
S-4: Sylvari RAGECLEAVES for 7 damage and an additional 13 damage on the second swing. DEAD!

At the end of Round 2:

Daeth: Full HP, 10 MP spent so far
Sylvari: 5 MP spent
Thales: 12 HP damage and 11 MP damage.
Jewel: Nothing
Rurail: 14 HP damage and 9 MP damage.

Surviving enemies:
A-2: Wounded
A-4: Nearly Dead
B-1: Healthy
B-2: Healthy
B-3: Healthy

...The way I imagine this is that Rurail gets hurt, then suddenly just gets pissed the fuck off and flooded with adrenaline, and starts flailing around like a madman. Three natural 20's in a row? DAMN.

Shit, we hit them like a hurricane. There was twelve of them, now there's only five left, one of which is wounded and another on their last leg.

Rurail for MVP this fight.

Chaotic Good

Casual worship of Vijer actually.

Hm. Chaotic good and worshipping a law/good. I can see it as "She has her own code of morality that she adheres to, regardless of mortal law."

It's not impossible to follow Vijer and Bree at the same time, since they're both Good and willing to leave their debate on Law/Chaos as philosophy, which does piss off Vijer's dad and amuses Bree's. That'd fit the "good" alignment thing.

Yeah, this version where you have access to good weapons and they're not currently using a Doom effect or grabbing random enchanted stuff off the ground is much easier.  Plus the bonus from the ambush.

And if Daeth hadn't readied a counterspell, you'd be squaring off against a Skelebomination which has more HP than all the servitors combined.

Since the summoners are gone, you'll probably finish them off in the third round. Basically, everything went right for y'all.

I think I said it before:

Fights aren't (usually) going to be like Hollywood swordfights. You're not trying to look pretty for an audience, you're trying to kill as quickly as possible. It's either going to be a quick set of actions that results in death, or pounding your opponent as hard as possible to wear down his defense so you can kill them before they do it to you.

Does that mean there's no mechanic for fighting left-handed?

It's Vijer, then Arnum, then Malaquai and Pellegrin. Don't have anything against Bree, but he isn't on her list of go-to gods.

and yes, She follows her own moral code, not the law, but DOES follow her code.

How'd the two summoners get insta-killed? Were they part of jewel's 30-swing?

Actually I'd say Thales or Daethwin are MVPers, Daethwin because of that counterspell, Thales because he took out two alphas. Rurail just killed a beta on his own, assisted jewel, did some damage & then fumbled.

Ha, adrenaline-swinging sounds fun but it's outta character with stoic. If anything, I'd blame the adrenaline for the fumble.

Roleplay, I was gonna suggest you call out the summoner as a priority target, but then he died.  :D
Maybe you could call out the wounded alphas, but we'll probably focus on them anyway.
I'll probably have a Rurail hang back more and let jewel do his tanking thing. He got a bit over-eager.

Yeah. When characters act together, their combined rolls are the total effective roll. They already had some bonus with this.

Think about the nature of death damage. All of the pain of being stabbed, but you feel an unpleasant tingling and then nothing. No response. You can feel your whole body feeling slightly weaker, maybe even a little nausea, and the area around the wound throbs uncomfortably.

Panic and adrenaline are a perfectly healthy reaction. I can totally see fight then flight, followed by a "Am I poisoned? Did any of my internal organs experience death-related failure?"  reaction.

Mm, so long as he's quiet about it.
What's the point of the major virtue otherwise- composure for lesser wounds? But we wouldn't see 'oh shit' reactions from normal party members for those either, (we're badass adventurers after all), so the virtue is superfluous in that case.
Look at Thales, he took a bigger hit than Rurail, didn't get the 20s, and he's not in adrenaline mode.

So yeah, worry about it, but Rurail's gotta remember he's still in the fight, and losing composure won't help him now. It's time to compartmentalize, grit his teeth & focus on defending himself & his party members, not trip & bash his head.

I'd say he's definitely feeling the nausea and threatened organ failure, but he's fighting well in spite of it. The gaff is something he'll silently curse himself over later, for getting caught up in the moment.
