And it likely turns out to be me who has to settle the hackles of everyone.

Hopefully Beta won't need such guidance, but bridge, cross, etc.

I can't help but think that two adventurer groups going at it would only be terrifying, considering a group of adventurers going against some priests managed to bring gods onto the mortal realm.

Hey look it's Cthulhu.

Everyone make Will saves to avoid insanity.

Oh...uhhh...you all rolled 2s and still made it?...uhhhh....well,  guess you can figh-or it's already dead and now Morgred has a huge body to transfer himself into...wonderful.

Also, interesting note; Daethwin can do 8-part songs by himself. With orchestral accompaniment.

Yeah I'm totally gonna have a multitude of bodies to choose from at any one time; like a closet full of clothes.

I find the suggestion of bringing an army against Morgred highly ironic, as that would merely feed him more bodies. :)

What if it was an army of constructs?

Or elementals?

Or people with contingency spells to disintegrate their corpses if they are slain, as a sort-of immediate cremation? Preferably with one to also teleport all their gear back to an armory vault impenetrable from the inside(otherwise you'd do something like send in a tiny thing to steal all of it at once)? That is then run through several dozen decontamination cycles of varying types, 3/4 of which are magical in nature and/or meant to deal with magic? And while it is being cleaned out, then cleared out, a second, equally powerful vault is collecting the items of the slain? You shouldn't need more than two, and the second one wouldn't need to be as large.

That is a question actually, is it possible for elementals to be undead? I suppose soul-wise, it is very possible, but iconic undead-wise, not so much. But then, that does serve the question as to what distinction is there between that of undead and life? To have died once? Wouldn't that make any resurrected creature undead in a way? Does one need to be organic to be undead? I suppose in a way, destroying a golem and repairing it for your side would simply be necromancy in a vague way.

Reminds me of a funny story I heard once, a paladin who despised all undead to an extreme. But there was one form of undeath and death dodging he hated the most as it was a flagrant abuse of the workings of death and an eye sore to his god: resurrection.

It depends on whether you think elementals can have souls, or if their soul and body are one, and thus when is destroyed/dissipated, so is the other.

Can probably wrest control of them, though.

Constructs are just a pain to deal with anyway, although Flesh Golems are already undead.

Well, everything in this game has a soul/magic, so I think that would be a yes. One could take control over them, but as much as one could any other creature I imagine.

Due to the whole 'everything has a soul/magic/animating force,' with living creatures having more, it does provide a sort of vague basis that almost anything could be necromancy, if one takes the idea that necromancy is the shaping and manipulation of the soul.

Everything has a spirit. Not everything has a soul.

Souls and spirits are similar, in the same way squares and rectangles are. Necromancy has some degree of involvement with souls, but it's more spirit and matter than soul.

Hey, to be fair they started it.
Bringing the gods into it, that is.

Nifty update RP!
