1.
Quote
Purple Obsidian: A form of rare obsidian. It helps to reduce the effects of hostile magic.

2. I am considering doing a revamp of HP and MP. Not sure I will, but here's what I'm contemplating. HP: 10 HP base + Endurance + Level (levels in combat classes would grant 2 HP instead of 1) + Virtues/Feats; MP: 5 MP base + (Willpower + Intelligence / 2) + Level (levels in magic classes would grant 2 MP instead of 1) + Virtues/Feats

New Alpha Party stats:
Zoah 40 HP / 24 MP or 43 HP / 23 MP in Trace Mode
Neun 36 HP / 31 MP
Tarana 34 HP / 17 MP
Myrln 21 HP / 42 MP
Morgrod 21 HP / 32 MP

New Beta Party stats:
Jewel 40 HP / 20 MP
Rurail 34 HP / 20 MP
Nathan 31 HP / 21 MP
Castle 30 HP / 15 MP
Joe 23 HP / 44 MP

I'd prefer to see a vote on this to see if you like it before retconjuring it in.

3. Rules for fighting the gods: You lose.

To explain further, let me provide you with the (approximate) level of the sole character to fight Gods and win, as per the backstory:

Wizard 10 / Priest 10 / Swordsman 7 / Knight 5 / Sidhe Lord 5 / Wild Hunt 5 / Gunmage 4 / Soldier 3 / Sidhe Paragon 3 / Brawler 3 / Water Elementalist 2 / Enchanter 2 / Retconjurer 1. Yes, that is a Level 60 character, and literally the only reason he prevailed against the 18th, 24th, and 32nd ranked gods is because the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 15th, and 26th ranked gods directly intervened on his behalf.

Without them, the 32nd-ranked god would have eaten him for breakfast.
If you stat it, they will kill it.

Ross, just letting you know now, you should make sure you have a decent amount of stuff down on souls, necromancy and magic. I will be pressing those for the entire game, up until the point where I take Mingan's place.
Or try to and get pimp slapped into a billion shards of pure pain.
Bones feel pain?

Also, vote for the newer hp/mp. I think it makes more sense.

While Remuthra is right, we will do so ... eventually.
Also, health boost! Aww yeah!
...
How were our stars in comparison to this?
Vote for the new system anyhow.

Actually, Ross hasn't statted anything. (Statted's a word!). He stated what a level 60 warrior did to 3 lesser gods with 7 major god's major help.

In other words, that level 60 guy still means absolutely squat XD

I'm good with the change. Virtues and Feats meaning that you get a point of health for each virtue or feat I imagine?

I'm surprised Jewel has decent MP. He has no use for it currently though, I think.

I'm fine with new system. Also, I'd presume this would make it so my specialization feats and traits reduce mana cost for the appropriate spell types. Is that correct?

Ooh, that would be nice.
If it is the case, that is.

Pretty much, if your stats can be expressed in any number smaller than the lowest ordinal infinity, you lose.

Your saving throw against most gods is "If you save, you die instantly; if you fail, you die instantaneously."  Against other gods, it's "If you save, you experience every single possible form of death and pain simultaneously for all of eternity on the sub-atomic level; if you fail, it is beyond the capacity of any language that ever has been or ever will be invented to describe your suffering."

You get 1-3 points for them, yes. And Chink, you get more mana overall simply by having those as feats and traits. You can choose to express your feats/traits as "Increased spell potency" or "Decreased spell cost", but  once you pick which one it means, it's not going to change. Choose wisely.

About how much of a decrease would I see, or how much of an increase in potency?

Minor is 15%, Major is 25%, Critical is 50%.

I'll count feats as being equivalent to Major Virtues for the purpose of this. And yes, that does mean you can make Affinity have a 50% reduction in cost and Specialization have a 25% boost in power.

The "choose wisely" thing does apply to anyone with a feat or virtue in an area, for the record.

Do the bonuses stack additively or multiplicatively? For example, would a major and critical trait on a 10 MP spell, both on cost cutting, cut the cost to 10*(1-(.25+.5))=2.5 MP, or (10*(1-.5))*(1-.25)=3.75 MP?

Additive, and it always rounds up. A 10 MP spell with Critical and Major cost reduction bonuses will become a 3 MP spell.
