Any talk about costs is me talking about how it was roughly in reality, by my guess, the game, hearsay, listening to discussions, so on and so forth. In this game, stuff's price probably isn't that extreme as it is. Any talks about how hardy it is, is taken from the same as the above in costs, so probably not accurate in this 'verse, just there to give some perspective really.
Aketon/Gambeson: Leather clothing or leather armor really, its essentially a quilted leather jacket. You'd see foot troops in this usually, okay, could maybe stop a blade if you were lucky. I just have it on the list because I like the name.
Brigadine: Essentially leather clothing/armor with plates riveted on under it, or inside it depending on who made it. Fancy splinted armor in the shape of a breastplate really, you'd most likely see this on a nobleman who wants to be protected but still look civil and fancy. You'd also see slap-dashed versions by those who weren't as rich, usually taken from banded mail and made themselves or by someone with know-how.
Hauberk/Chain Shirt: This is essentially a long-sleeved chain shirt, the kind you see under armor, I'd wager it would be a bit lower than regular chain. Stuffs good, but ultimately you're sacrificing armor for mobility, but its still chain. Usually worn under breastplate or stuff. I'd reckon...
3 Sla | 2 or 3 Pir | 1 Blu Worse than typical chain, but you can move better in it, and its lighter. Also is the name used for regular chain though, but most often it refers to the thinner version.
Cuir Bouilli/Boiled|Hardened Leather: Move over leather armor, this stuff is boiled. Stronger, able to be fashioned into plates or scales, often very thick. I'd guess
3 Sla | 3 Pir, better than leather armor but that stuff is brittle due to the process to make it that hard. Can't move it at all though, stiff.
Lamellar: Now this is armor. Akin to scale, but an overall upgrade. Harder to make, but easier to move in and holds together better due to the more intricate style of linking. While it can be made out of leather, that's essentially Cuir Bouilli. Metal though, essentially scale but easier to move in and tougher. An overall upgrade, but a good chunk more expensive and time consuming to make.
Don't know the stats you'd give scale, but really whatever that is except a smidgen hardier. If I were to wager a guess... 4 Sla | 4 Pir | 2 or 3 Blu | 1 or 2 Bal. Scale would probably be a tad lower, maybe 4 Sla | 3 Pir | 2 or 3 Blu | 1 or 2 BalPlate: The stuff. There isn't really much more to say about it, this is the kind of stuff that is so expensive, there isn't such a thing as general size because it was all custom fitted. Most people, when fighting guys in plate, didn't bother trying to slash through it because hah, good luck, and instead went to wrestle the guy down so they could jam a dagger under their helmet or in a joint in the armor, or bash him around with what they got to knock the guy out
then kill him. Best you could get, but honestly you wouldn't see this on anyone other than the rich.
I'd guess... 5 Sla | 5 Pir | 3 Blu | 3 Bal really.Half-Plate/Chain and Plate: What it says on the tin can, for those who can't afford full plated armor. Weaker, but you might be able to see a lesser noble in it maybe.
I'd wager... 5 Sla | 4 Pir | 3 Blu | 2 BalCoat of Plates: Brigadine's more militaristic brother, this stuff is usually longer, covering most of the body like a a front and backed robe. Poor man's plate mail really, strong and good, but not as great as plate mail itself. Roughly on par with chain and plate.
4 Sla | 5 Pir | 3 Blu | 2 Bal
