Well, if he decides to dodge or however that works, it's all good.

Roleplay trumps rollplay, basically.

Or "You define your own success."

Quote
Step 1: DID YOUR CHARACTER SUCCEED? Is your character good enough to succeed? If Yes, proceed to 2. If No, go to 3.

Step 2: SUCCESS (BUT…): Do you want to increase the level of tension
in the scene? If Yes, describe the result of your character’s action in a way that gives your character either mixed success or a reason to doubt whether the success is real. Alternatively, allow your character to succeed, but then follow up immediately with a new twist, challenge, or complication. If No, then you want to end the tension, so describe the result positively and conclusively.

Step 3: FAILURE (BUT…): Do you want to increase the level of tension in the Scene (beyond the tension implicit in any failure)? If Yes, then add an additional wrinkle to the consequences of failure. If No, then ramp things down and let the failure only be a minor impediment.

Yeah, that's why I phrased the slapping so poorly. Sorry about that.

This isn't GTB/HoH where you would need to elaborate on the force, which hand, fore or back, relative distance between fighters, and "projected actions"  (read: what the character would do next if the attack was successful and if not). I'm pretty sure that very few people would like that as a requirement, which is why I say "being descriptive gives you combat bonuses" and leave it at that.

It was perfect for the situation, context, and roleplay.

I made it a bit more subjective so Green Guy can react adversely if he wants to, but thanks.

Oh boy, making friends I see. Maybe he'll like his gumption? Maybe?
Seems talkative enough that he could have a rowdy side, though the opening post might be the exception & not the rule there..

OH HEY @madman
Your dude's a half-elf right? 'They tend to live longer than their human ancestors'. So your '45-yo' swordsman could be (or maybe is and you're being sneaky, in which case HA! CAUGHT YOU!) more like 90.

Ross, for comedy's sake can I do what I just did? And can the floating soul randomly say "HEY LISTEN!"? Pretty please with sugarplums on top?

Ha, I'd think the opposite- I get the impression fae can be fickle. 'specially the manic ones.

But I meant along the lines of succeeding in all the actions. Namely getting the hat on his head.

First, thanks for the official welcome.
Second, Xantalos, it's counter-slapping time. I guess your insanity includes severe lack of a social sense. My character is not supposed to be the kind of person who would take that. But, if you need it spelled out:
I WILL NOT TAKE BEING SLAPPED.
I hope that was sufficient for your needs.
Slapping the new guy in the face... STUPID COMIC RELIEF!!!! WHAT IS THIS!??!??! SHAKESPEARE?!?!?!?!
BTW, Grizzly has a point which I hadn't thought of. Two points, actually.
First, how old do elves live in your crazy world?
Second, I've had some neat ideas for character changes; can I edit my character sheet one last time?
Spoiler: For the Monologue (click to show/hide)
