Jewel would recognize the blade as being orichalcum-glass or essence-of-orichalcum-glass, which effectively translates to +3 or +5 as far as damage bonus goes. You'd be able to tell from the pitch it makes upon striking it, or how quickly you die when it gets stuck inside you.

What makes it special is that it's a great magical conductor, very nearly a superconductor. Any swordsman with magic tricks (especially a Witch-class power user) would be tickled pink to have an orichalcum-glass weapon.

Try not to get stabbed. You don't have a /2 to non-bludgeoning against that +3/+5 weapon. Granted, from the sounds of it, the worse part of getting hit is the magic that comes with the blow, not the blow itself.
