So it's mostly just killing them as quickly as possible then. I suppose a good mage hunter would double as an assassin or rogue, or probably be just one in the same. Makes sense, a sort of rock paper scissors approach. Mage -> Warrior -> Rogue -> Mage, sorta.

What processes are involved in casting then? Does one need to speak, or have gestures, or is all of that perhaps not needed?

Standard procedure is to break fingers, tie, and gag.

It's not 100 percent effective. There's certain bindings and curses. The Sidhe have some spiffy manacles. They don't stop powers, they just overwhelm your senses and get tighter when you try. Eventually, you'll either die of blood loss, go mad, or stop trying to use powers.

Yeah, those are said bindings and curses.

Some materials lend themselves more to nulling than others. Hematite, salt, etc.

If you want to null a water elemental, cover them in dirt and ring them with fire and salt. So on - think double countering instead of just "use an opposite to null."

Null power is rare.

You'll see mostly fey, wizards, true angels and demons, outsiders, and those of true Divine blood with it. Unsurprisingly, those known tend to get killed off, because a lot of folk don't like the idea of someone going around with power like that.

Also, if you wanted a power character?

Witch 1/Free Mage 1/Archive 1/Adventurer 1. All the magic. Literally all the magic. You have to worship Mingan and Arnum, but no big.

Paragon 1/Gambler 1/Shaman 1/Adventurer 1. Follow Ingram, Darsh, and any good female deity. Or Pantxike instead of Ingram. You are the trickster archetype, get to re-roll a few bad ones, etc.

At least, that's what I can think of offhand. Sun Elf Ritual Mage 2/Nuke Mage 1/Adventurer 1...

Edit: Warrior 1/Decaric Priest 1/Infinite Legionnaire 1/Adventurer 1. Summon anti mage armor, huge bonus to combat rolls, proficiency with all weapons, etc.
