I can see why, that would be a very nice thing to have for one with an aquatic disposition.

Don't need. I expect by Act 3 or 4 I'll have a giant bone leviathan/kraken to ferry around Alpha Party. Hell, that's only if the giant undead/fab-life blimp plan doesn't work out.

If you don't have an army of undead by the start of Act 3 I'll be surprised and disappointed.

Ross, are there specific rules for making sentient undead/incorporeal undead?

Nothing specific, so here's the generals on making better undead:

1. Let your undead feed. The more and better they eat, the more semblance of life they gain.
2. Use a higher-tier summon, like 5th or higher.
3. Use necromancy to upgrade your undead. It works on a similar principle to enchanting, but it is specifically for the undead.
4. Try stabbing someone with that dagger of yours.
5. After levelling, team up with Neun to make some high-tier Elemental Undead.
6. All of the above.

Ghostly undead are fourth tier and higher. They don't usually eat food aside from soul fragments and ambient mana, but calling up a Greater Vampire or a murder of Wraiths would cause some hilarity.

Excellent... so how would 'enchanting' my undead work? Do I just pump mana into them?

Yeah, you spend at least 15 MP (and then more for every level beyond) on what you aim to do with it.

I'd advise trying less for "mana sucking bite" or "soul noms" and more for "Filthy disease vector" or "Oversized mouth full of shark teeth".

Okay...

Another question, how would 'improving' my body with bones and shit work? And will my body eventually rot away the way it is now?

It won't rot so long as you're in it and the assorted spells keeping it a fit vessel to exist in remain.

Depends on what and how long, really.

If it helps, I regard your character as a soul "contained" within the bones in order to, y'know, exist on the Material Plane. Which is to say, a body is certainly nice, but you don't need it to exist exist. You're still vulnerable to powers without a body and it costs you constant mana to be disembodied, but still. The vessel is simply that; given enough time and power, you can make it more fitting to your personal taste.

Awesome awesome. What about building myself a steel suit of armour to exist in?

You're a necromancer, not a master enchantersmith.  So basically, no Full Metal Alchemist for you.

So in other words, make it out of the strongest bone you can find, heh. Dragons, if they exist, are usually contenders for that spot.

Well, nothing is stopping Morgrod from making a giant musclebeast aside from a lack of corpses to play with, which is generally never a problem when it comes to Morgrod.

If said meat sack can have armor made to fit it, then I see no reason why it couldn't wear armor.

Gotta say Ross, you are freaking awesome.

Wait a second. Is 'Full Metal Alchemist' style alchemy a thing here?

Wizards could do it.
Combination ritual, kinetic, & chaos is my layman guess.

(or maybe just ritual)
