I can just imagine the party returning at the head of an army.

"So yeah, we powermurdered some people so hard the survivors defected to our side, got the attention of the gods and survived, assassinated some important people, and then we raised an army and conquered a large portion of the country. Here's a sack of plunder. Are we master adventurers now?"

"...you just bought yourself a sponsor."

EDIT:

I imagine a good deal of the mage corps would be healers. Active preventive care would help stave off diseases, which are generally big drains on manpower. And having a good supply of medics for injuries is great for longetivity. There'd probably be some overlap between the mage corps and the engineering corps, given the uses of geomancy and elementalism for fortification, sanitation, and getting water.

300 mages. If the "First Circle" would be Myrln, Neun, and Morgred (as in, top-tier casters), the "Second Circle" would be 6 people (almost-PC level casters), the "Third Circle" would be 40 people (talented), the "Fourth Circle" would be 193 people (average), another 40 for the "Fifth Circle" (two-talents), and the remaining 21 would be apprentices or one-talent folks. To go with the "a good deal would be healers" that means 3 A-list, 20 B-list, 97 C-list, and 30 D-list types. One healer for every 63 people. Not bad.

Mages have a lot of utility in war. The problem with offensive uses is that defense tends to be easier than offense, and creating a giant ward, or everyone have protective amulets or something, is a small cost for a huge gain.

So yeah, engineering and healing seem like the biggest uses. A few offensive//defensive, of course, and necromancers would be useful, but not the majority.

Anyway. Is Beta Party update coming after all your other games, Ross? Please?

As soon as this battle is wrapped up, it's Beta Party time.

Possibly sooner, if it takes much longer. The fight isn't over yet.

Medics: 3 A-list, 20 B-list, 97 C-list, 30 D-list.
Engineers: 2 A-list, 13 B-list, 68 C-list, 17 D-list.
Other: 1 A-list, 6 B-list, 34 C-list, 9 D-list.

EDIT: It'd be a vote of Alpha Party members to decide what "Other" means, be it necromancers, nuke mages, summoners, gunmages, smiths, enchanters, diviners, or whatever.

They haven't even flashed red and gone into angry mode yet. You've just killed some cannon fodder. XD

It sounds like Morgrod is trying to make himself a prime target for a shin duel.

It's time to bring the pain. If that means surfing a tidal wave of zombie vermin to do awesome battle with the warrior priests, so be it.

It's there now. I just need to figure out attack values, health, etc, as I'm treating it as a single unit.

Excellent. If the two gods I called help me out, we might even be able to finish this battle in the next two turns.

It is chink, but if you get more empowerment shin's going to pop in for shits and giggles. And he'll target the most powerful non-ally, (probably).

Well, actually, once Darsh shows, Coranthiir will show. Once they start going at it, then Shin will show up, followed by either Mingan or Liagora, and then Sanoci. And then maybe Chelan.

But yeah.
