The Second Galactic War: Union Turn Thread
« on: May 16, 2013, 12:56:05 pm »

Greetings commanders. Captain General Adrew Hamck has seen fit to provide you with the following ships for your scouting duties.

Spoiler: Small Ships (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Medium Ships (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Large Ships (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Torpedoes and Mines (click to show/hide)

While the firepower might seem excessive, the enemy's scouts have engaged our forces in several nearby systems. Every ship you destroy is one less ship to worry about.

You may place your ships anywhere below the white, dotted line. The only other restriction is that your scout ships lack a hyperdrive, and therefore must be placed on the same hex as a ship from the medium or large category, since they are capable of ferrying the scouts through hyperspace. Where you place your ships and how you divide control of them is up to you four. You could attempt to divide the fleet up equally, based on size or speciality, or however else you want.

As always, feel free to ask for clarification if needed. Otherwise, best of luck to you!

Okay, first who control which ships.

I prose everyone get a medium or large and the Marx and Rommel owners get a small as well.

I think that the names in quotations are the names of individual ships, so how the Engles scout has the following,
"Kloma", "Roh Island", "Bermadour", "Norshire"
I think that means that there are 4 different scouts of the Engles class.

Also, I am highly excited about the mines, I'll definitely want some mine ships.
Since it looks like there are 6 Rommel medium ships and 3 Damocus small ships that have mines, I'll be wanting some of those.

I like being the tank in any RTD, so if nobody is against it I'd like to control the "Hi Wa We." Other than that I'll take whatever is leftover.

Also, I have no idea when I will be able to use a computer until Tuesday as I'm travelling all over the place at the moment.

I'll post my prefeneces later, when I have time.

Ok, here are the ships we've got.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And here is what all people have requested so far.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

So that leaves the following.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Since scientist likes tanks, I'd recomend a pair of Bush class Cruiser to support the Hi Wa We.
Persus doesn't seem to mind what ever is left over, and Scapheap gave a full list.

I would like to take the following. "Qutitelo", "Beous Erie", "Ebjini" Rommel Cruisers, and "Vergino" and "Vaszack" Damocus Minelayers.
Which would leave about this.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
If we give scientist 2 Bush Cruisers, a Rommel, and An Engles, that would leave an Engles, a Damocus, a Rommel and a Bush for Persus, which is a pretty well-rounded force.

If it's okay with Persus, I'll take the Bush class ships "Teakass" and "Nerlin", the rommel class "Hegi", and the Engles class "Kloma".

If this is my group of ships, I should probably take the front line with Hi Wa We in 10.17 (carrying Kloma), and Teakass, Nerlin, and Hegi in 6.17, 8.17, and 12.17 respectivly.

That's fine with me. Just if everyone can confirm that.

Now when to place the ships, I wish to be the flanker.

I say we deploy a scout force to take advantage of the planet and sun and sling it towards the front line. My force is well rounded, and I think it should be a reserve or a support. I think scientist should be our main attack group.

Spoiler: Proposed Plan (click to show/hide)
I placed scientist in the hexes he choose out, and scapheap, you're over at the left side, so you can flank using the upper planet to your advantage. Persus is over at right for support, and I'm slightly behind the front line, as my minelayers will primamarily be long ranged bombards to force them to move out of the way and use up their fuel supplies.

Any in favor of this?
