I say shut off the power, maybe find the fuel or coolant lines and corrode them.

Scouts 1 and 2: You enter the ventshaft and fly to the top, then proceed down the biggest tunnel. Before long, it branches out, and not knowing which was is best, the group splits.

Scout 1:  After several moments of vent-crawling, which gets steadily smaller, You come to a grate located at the top of a room. It's hard to see much, but it would appear that you found the Human Queen's Chamber, judging by the size of the room. You don't currently smell anyone or see anyone in the room.

Scout 2: Your trail leads you to the Bridge proper. You look through the vent, seeing a group of bored and serious Humans working on computers. Beneath you comes a bitter, alkaline smell, with a few humans forming a line to obtain the substance. One looks at the vent and blinks a few times; you skitter back.

"Huh... I'll need two cups. I'm seeing things."

"What?"

"There, in the vent. I saw something moving around."

"Rats. Or something. You do need coffee."

Scout 3: You continue to follow the power line, and proceed through several hatches, eventually leading into a room where the cables branch out into what appear to be large batteries. Through a double-sealed hatch, you can see some sort of additional power generation. It is very securely locked, and has several security measures preventing access into the power generation chamber.

We should damage the power transfer mechanisms. Reducing their capacity should suffice to limit the countermeasures that their hive can perform.

We can try to shortcircuit the mechanisms. Be carefull though, they might explode.

Why not?

To scout out or take over the craft.

I was just hoping to asses it's purpose and capabilities, but bringing it to the ground isn't out of the question if we are in it for shits and giggles. I suppose I didn't think through the limited information processing capabilities of the drones, because I was hoping to bring back information or subjects for experimentation XD

To scout out or take over the craft.

It's just the teensiest bit counter-productive to go tramping through their command ship if we're trying to remain completely undiscovered.

Btw, I take it the thing's not a 'ship' in the traditional sense- more like some kind of big ol mobile home?

@noxes
Seems kinda risky for examining it's purpose & capabilities- usually you'd want to figure that out before you infiltrate it. Depending on what kind of info you had in mind, there are probably easier places to get both of those, (experimentation fodder).

All true, but things did not go as I had originally expected, and so you work with the situation you are presented with.

All I've got to say is 'in for a penny != in for a pound'.
I'm being a real kill-joy here, but I'd rather just get the hell out of there.

You should all feel free to disagree, but I'm calling massive 'I told you so' rights if things go south.

Well, we're already inside so we might as well disable it as thoroughly as possible. If we can wreck their propulsion and communication systems, we can send out a better-equipped force to take it over and pull it apart for our own needs.

Think a cross between a Dune Spicecrawler and a Jawa ship, yes. If I had to pick any one word or phrase to describe it, I would have to say "Janky piece of shit."

The infiltration is because they're pirates. They have disabled anything and everything that would reveal them to the Administration, and are actively and deliberately jamming Administration satellites to hide their presence. Pretty much the only reason they would ever try to gain contact is if they're terrified of death, and it'd take time to restore communication.

As it stands, the Scouts can indeed disable the ship and communication methods with good use of their firepower. They may even be able to get away with it, too, if luck is with them and stealth is used.

Except... a pirate War-RV suddenly appearing on the radar would draw attention to them, para-military or military attention at that. The only real problem with that is they might stumble over our Hive while they are bumbling about the area (how many K out is the Ship anyway?). I'd say at max try and cripple their engines so they are kept in the area for some time (so we can play more if We like) but leave their communications/jamming apparatus alone (this is of course assuming the scouts could tell one from the other) so that they will be able to stay hidden (and by proxy  so shall we). Also, they are not likely to immediately suspect a malevolent alien entity as the cause of their problems (they aren't likely to be in the loop with whatever small section of the local military that knows anything so far) and so will assume more mundane explanations for whatever damage we may cause for now.
