It is doubtful that we would get any without sending scouts...

We're in the process of installing the sensory array, and once we do, we'll have to dedicate a few Tech Drones or a computer to monitor the data and report on it.

Until then, nope.

New farms are out of question as we have no flowers to plant, except those that we need for future space based hydroponic version.

I think we should do some queen's recon trips now to learn more about the surroundings\find fun stuff. She is cold resistant, (and that should  be boosted by the combat suit), got a nice weapon and can burrow when needed. I am a bit worried that combat suit will make her somewhat slower but that shouldn't be a large problem

She can use that time to will her grub eggs and drone eggs to scout eggs. Developing scouts when scouting is just logical, scouts later may turn to soldiers, soldiers to predators\nurses\commanders.

Once again I propose Radio analyzing facility + military planning room. Now when the soldier regained his intelligence he can aid in that

Moving essential resources, like dormant flowers, food and pollen fuel into the new deep chamber is advisable

+1 to all of the above Except Scouting with the Queen. The heavy MG and battle suit will be helpful with any incursions, but we don't need to be taking unnecessary risks.

Develop a few expendable Scouts and have them run some scouting trips in the surrounding countryside. Give them orders that if they are spotted to flee Away from the hive and try to lay low if possible (but they are to be treated as expendable when concerning Hive Security).

The Telemetry computer can (maybe) be reprogrammed later if we need it as such later, so go ahead and re-purpose it as a sensor computer. When we have the excess T-Drones and Assembler capacity begin Assembling new Assemblers to setup in the Under-Base as well as redundant Nursery and Flower Farming areas (to be utilized as needed). Once the Under-Base is as well setup as the Over-Base carefully relocate the Fusion reactor to the new base, with redundant, braced wiring connecting the Over-Base back to the grid.

Edit: I know we don't have Flowers to plant now in the Under-Farm, this is to serve as a backup in case we need to evacuate (say, when being bombed) or do get some more Flowers to plant (by allowing some to Fruit, say)

Edit Edit: Also, the plan to move the Fusion Reactor was assuming that we can't assemble a new one at present, if we can then that is of course the preferable course of action to off-lining our only power plant for any length of time.

+1 for scouting the surroundings, and I also repeat my suggestion of creating a dedicated recon/light infantry caste focused on stealth. I'd say we should have them focus on hand-to-hand combat if we were dealing wih humans, but our physiology makes that a bit of a moot point.

I see no reason to create light infantry caste, when every caste has it's own scouts

Besides to create new caste we have to either alter the queen or create suitable mate. Both need some jelly

Making the queen smaller isn't good idea, because that can lead to less eggs and reduce sizes of all sects we'll produce

Making small, fertile, stealthy soldier is more viable option...
T drone can be converted to that, some of the B-scouts that we should get soon can be converted for that, S soldiers can be converted to that, too... In fact melee, tech independent caste is good thing to have for cannon fodder purposes

But I prefer more versatile castes to come first

I would say that regardless of its mechanism of formation, a cheap stealth/recon specialist would be quite versatile. Think a cross between a Tyranid genestealer and a lictor a bit bigger than a hormagaunt, but smarter and more independent. They could be used for reconnaissance, ambushes, infiltration, and raids, to name a few. Fertility would be an added touch, but may take more effort.

War Queens have a pre-Predator stage that is known as the Hunter, and is basically what you are describing. Yes, it should be possible for You to approximate that, as it's already a known stage of development. Just don't expect it to be as deadly
without Jelly, that's all.

You could call this the "Stalker" level.

Update is coming today. I'll skip the "If this is correct" pre-post, because there is going to be a fast-forward where many things will happen. If this includes discovery or contact, I'll switch over from Building Mode to either Strategic or Tactical, depending on the size of the forces and nature of contact.

Our short-term survival is assured. You decide the time has come to truly dig in, and burrow so deep that You can safely ignore the Humans until it is time to bring forth the Kai in a purge of the human primates. Over the next two days, Your time is fully occupied by the Flowers, changing eggs into new types, and carefully working with Your favorite NavDrone, creating an optimal design and system for the backup Hive.

You further order the Nurse to begin to excrete the needed hormone-scents for it to begin to develop pseudogenitalia and certain changes related to an eventual emergency situation calling for its fertility. During this period, the Tech Drones were ordered to begin replicating the vitals of the Industrial Lab, assembling them, and then having Drones carry them down to the Deep Hive. Any Tech Drones that were not needed would have priority orders to find a Bore Worm and begin the installation of the Sensory Arrays, regardless of the time. The NavDrone oversees this process while repairing and recalibrating the Telemetry Computer to accept and decipher the incoming signals.

About the middle of the third day, the system is online, and almost immediately picks up Human signals. Several come from space, although assorted stations appear to be sending out automated test results. Some signals appear to be mobile, with a rough correlation between signal strength and vehicle speed. All of these return to a Hive Vehicle of some sort, which appears to be heavily reinforced and very noisy. A careful inspection of the satellite network shows that it is apparently designed to harvest minerals, make noise, repair vehicles, and spew a trail of greenhouse gas. Despite this, however, it is only through careful searching and serendipity that You actually manage to have it located. Clearly, the ship is a rouge Hive of rebel humans; otherwise, it would be registered.

You decide to put off any potential investigation to study the Human data, and order the NavDrones to work with the L2 Soldier. The main priority for the Soldier proves to be similar to Yours, as it makes assorted changes to the Armored Suits, resulting in the second edition of the suits. These are lighter and more durable, as well as being patterned to provide concealment on the surface. You don the new Superalloy Combat Suit, have a brief moment of contemplation, and then order the upgrade of the L2 Soldier's armor to match Yours, as well as alloting him a heavy weapon and standing orders to retreat to the Deep Hive , protecting all Kai, in case of Human incursion.

By the time all of the tasks are complete, it is the start of Day 9. Scouts are activated, and sent out. They are currently just outside the Hive, stuffed full with Synthetic Stimfood and ready for orders.

What do You do? What did You do with the Royal Jelly (Made fertile L2 Soldier, NavDrone, or Nurse? / upgraded Kai?) Which Flowers do You plan on breeding? Where are the Scouts going?

I say fertilize our favorite Nav Drone, as intelligent, technically competent offspring are a handy thing in a growing hive.

As for scouting orders, have the drones ascertain the nature and disposition of the Botanical Facility (maybe a source of handy samples for !bioscience!), the Outpost, and the Manufacturing Facility for now. They are to take no undue risks (as much as they can be trusted with such decisions) but if detected (or if they even suspect detection) have them flee in a direction other than back home until they can be relatively certain they are no longer being followed.

As for Agriculture, I say we focus on breeding the Evergreen Flower and the 'Default' Flowers growing in optimal conditions for now. A Sporifer of each would be very helpful right now in expanding our future food stocks. Potential uses for the Hybridrone Flower should also be investigated, also the relationship of it and the Queens Flower (why did it produce a poison similar to the Queens Flower?).

I second the nav drone fertilisation, for much the same reasons, right now we need technical proficiency to establish a thriving colony. It should also lead to more easily controlled offspring, which could be an issue if we go predator-heavy.

I would like to have a technical lab built to improve our technical support. In time we will want our population to be as independent as possible, but for now technology should improve our living conditions more swiftly.

Lay lay lay lay lay lay lay! We need lots of workers, lots of food, and lots more workers. We really need our population to start expanding exponentially up until the thousands probably. We will want to refine our breeds a lot, but better breeds can be integrated later, for now we need a sizable workforce to prepare for rapid expansion once our breeding has reached a satisfactory level.

I am happy with the scouting proposal. I am tempted to suggest that we look into the crash site, but that should only be attempted with extreme caution. I would like the scouts to be completely independent and to concentrate on preventing their trails from being traced. To this end we really need some concentrated food for them to carry. We could look into solar powered food synthesisers and bore worms that they could use to erect feeding stations, but I am not certain that we could do that quickly. Another idea would be trying to engineer an edible moss that would grow on this planet...

I haven't really been following the flower development...

Guys, Navigation drones are too specialized for new castes.... Besides there are no rush in making mate right now as we'll get another unit of royal jelly before day 14... Upgraded Kai can give us serious benefits now

I strongly  suggest to spend unit of royal jelly to turn LVL2 soldier into a proficient weapon designer and strategy planner, while saving his  combat abilities. Later, with new unit of Royal Jelly will make him fertile and get caste of smart soldiers.
Also, Use the knowledge we gained from electro resistant larvae and commander to apply the changes the the soldier (Elecroresistance is good for safer weapon designing and may make us able to make electroweapons later, boosting commanding ability is just nice)

I bolded it, as mate is a very important issue, more important than anything else
Anyway even if we'll mate nav drone later, there are no reason to turn it fertile now, while we have better tactical options. We need vehicles, we need fortifications, we need combat robots

Speaking about potential mates and children... lay nurse egg and 1 predator egg

I haven't really been following the flower development...

Evergreen Flower: Frost-tolerant, alkali-loving double-flowered evergreen. It is toxic in large amounts, with the leaf containing alkaloids that stimulate the nervous system in small amounts. The alkaloids have been added to the Synthetic Food, upgrading its quality to StimFood.

Spiny Flower: Highly invasive, sun-loving thorny annual that tends to monopolize soil resources. It produces an astounding amount of nectar.

Hyibridrone (Kaibrid?) Flower: Produces one-quarter of the flowers; the resulting food is moderately toxic to lesser-developed Kai and produces one-half of the food as a usual Flower. May kill the host if fungus spreads.

No! no! no!
We can safely wait till day 14 ( and get best possible units), we need to wait for the pollen to plant more flowers and boost our food production to support our growing population

Also we have almost no unlaid drones, mostly soldiers and beyond...
