That sounds pleasant. We just need an early larva of our Kai to be conditioned to parasitism. We can relay instructions to them after that quite easily.
The tricky part is getting a Kai to interpret human brain-signals.

The idea of the brainbug was just to have a psy relay. It doesn't need to get up close and personal.

Because that would be fairly stupid, dangerous and ineffective.

heres A fairly simple way to make them stop, and get out of there room,look for A empty room, preferably somewhere that is visited every once in A while, with windows, and smash, said window, or find A particuary thin part of the hull, and blast it away, until you get a hole large enough fo rt eh Khai to fit in, and when mr. repair man comes in, we grab em, if there are more then one, grab one and eat the other.

We're two days out- for a guy to survive two days on mars, he'd need to carry......(.500tv*12bpm*60m/h*24h/d*2=)17,280 liters. A diving cylinder holds 600. And that's low-balling it- if the guy's panicking, he'll be breathing more than 12bpm, and the tidal volume will be more than 500ml, and we won't be able to get him back in 2 days as if we were flying unencumbered.

A dead body isn't worth the trouble we'd be causing by kidnapping him.

How about that - we let our scouts search for the equipment that lets those silly humans breath on mars. Retrieve it. Retrieve leader - who is at the moment very liable to being captured - and take-off after disabling some electronics yet again. They will know something happened, but will be very unable to pin it. Risks? Sure, sure. Just let a scout stand by at the generator. If things go south, we can always make the sacrifice. Not like those handfull of scouts is that hard to replace. Just make sure we leave no corpses of ourselves there.

Else, very much in favour of psy-scouts for future use.

Well, it's significantly lower, but not low enough.
(365ml*3bpm*60m/h*24h/d*2d/1000=) 3153.6 liters
The the lowest possible amount- if we can keep them unconscious (& in REM sleep) without killing them/damaging their brain, and can fly at max speed while over-burdened, (that's what, 6 tanks?), and can change the tanks after we've identified what they are, etc.

If they're awake we'll need to take 29+.

It might be hard to identify whether they have rebreather or open circuit, so we'd be taking a 50/50 gamble if we go to kidnap them.

I'd rather not kidnap at this point, but I'm ok with spending some of the next 24 hours looking around for breathing apparatus.

Oh, and do note that any decent spacesuit has it's own radio or other type of communicator. A panicking pirate being kidnapped by aliens would probably be willing to give up his location to anyone in order for a rescue. We don't want to give away the location of our base.
