TURN 8
Drugs are administered to the Captain of the "Admiral Wilson". It looks like he'll be out for a while though.
The crew of "Strike Breaker" is momentarily confused at their orders. How can they hit the "Cirow" when it's beyond the range of their railgun?
The crew of "Magnum" and "General Ted" break out their share of board games. It's going to be a long trip.
COMBAT
The "Admiral Wilson" loads up its railguns for an attack on the "Teakass". (Attack: 5 vs. Defence: 5 -> 1:1)
[2] [2] The "Teakass" manages to dodge just at the right moment, and avoids the shots.
The "Dashing Brilliance" shoots its pulse laser at the "Terin". (Attack: 2 vs. Defence: 2 -> 1:1)
[5] Despite the distance, the pulses manage to score a few hits on the minelayer, setting off a few mines left in its hold! -1
The crew manages to stop a chain reaction, but the vessel is no longer battle worthy.
The "Strike Breaker" lets out a cheer and then aims its laser cannons at the "Ledilh". (Attack: 4 vs. Defence: 4 -> 1:1)
[2] The shots burn a couple of holes in the armour of "Ledilh", but the damage is minor at best.
"Spitfire", "Resolute" and "Daring Escape" all focus their fire on the "Hi Wa We". (Attack: 2 vs. Defence: 10 -> NaN) (Attack: 4 vs. Defence: 10 -> 1:3) (Attack: 5 vs. Defence: 10 -> 1:3)
[1] [1] "Daring Escape" and "Resolute"'s lasers could have bounced off the carrier's armour for all the damage they did. "Spitfire"'s attacks are little better.
"Blunt Instrument", "Dick Shafter", "Driller" and "Space Falcon" decide to send a massive barrage in the direction of the "Nerlin". (Attack: 2 vs. Defence: 5 -> 1:3) (Attack: 4 vs. Defence: 5 -> 2:3) (Attack: 5 vs. Defence: 5 -> 1:1)
[4] [6] [5] [2] [3] "Driller" manages to sear a large gash through "Nerlin"'s armour, but the Captain of the vessel manages to dodge the rest of the shots. -1
"Amazinia" and "Ledilh" turn their guns on "Strike Breaker". (Attack: 5 vs. Defence: 6 -> 2:3)
[1] [2] [1] "Strike Breaker" manages to dodge all of the shots with ease. Several crew aboard the "Ledilh" are starting to think that the vessel is blessed with the devil's luck.
The "Beous Erie" fires at the "Dashing Brilliance" in revenge for it's fallen brothers. (Attack: 5 vs. Defence: 5 -> 1:1)
[3] The shots skim off the edges of "Dashing Brilliance"'s armour, scarring but not damaging it.
The "Hegi" sends a couple shots off in "Driller"'s direction. (Attack: 5 vs. Defence 3 -> 1:1)
[6] Somehow the shots manage to connect, smashing right through the boat! -1
The "Driller" spews its remaining fuel into the void and snaps in half due to the forces involved.
"Nerlin" and "Teakass" set up a crossfire for the "Dashing Brilliance". (Attack: 5 vs. Defence: 5 -> 1:1) (Attack: 8 vs. Defence: 5 -> 1:1)
[1] [4] [5] [5] Being attacked from both sides the "Dashing Brilliance" can't evade properly. -3
The crews use their "Mac" Cannons smash the USEC vessel to bits, mostly for revenge for their fallen comrades.
LAUNCHING
"Dick Shafter" is the only ship launching anything is turn. Thank god.
INTERCEPTION
The "Strike Breaker" blunders into some more mines near (15, 09). (Attack: 10 vs. Defence: 6 -> 3:2)
[6] The mines take their toll on the battered vessel, which has lost all of its armour at this point. -1
*General excuses for laziness. Sorry, sorry*
With a couple more minor ships down, we're starting to get to the brass tacks, as it were. Can't really say who's winning yet though, it can still go either way. As usual, if I've made a mistake tell me and I'll fix it ASAP.
It's probably a bit early, but I obviously haven't balanced the forces as well as I thought I did. So if you have any suggestions for the next mission, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
