Dwarf Fortress Furries (2)
« on: May 14, 2013, 12:08:55 am »

This thread will replace and add structure to the original; the fidelity of the previous thread in regards to the forum guidelines had come into question and the thread was locked.

This is a continuation of the previous thread and the administrators of this board have given us the privilege of continuing to post in it so long as none of the replies contain images or URLs (hyperlink or otherwise), and explicitly sexual topics are avoided.

So yeah those are the new rules, and if you have any questions, PM me.

Sweet, glad to see Toady let this topic continue in a new form.

Hello again! Not a furry, but I generally don't have any issues with them and dislike the amount of hate they get from certain circles.

I honestly have faith that we could continue to be civilized about the topic. It's sure as hell not one you'd be able to discuss respectfully in many settings.

Oh yes, I've always had faith that the Bay12 community was mature enough for it.

Lets not speak of the MLP shenanigans then. Better to stay optimistic.

Being civilized shouldn't present any problem. Apart from the one escaped lunatic, the previous thread was completely civil. Even the people who found the subject matter uncomfortable were polite about it.

But, if you'll forgive me...I'm not entirely sure what the intended subject matter for version 2 of this thread is. I only remember seeing two posters in the entirety of the original thread who identified as furries, and prior to the questionnaire most of the posts from everyone else were simply agreeing that we don't really have a problem with it.

So...umm...what else is there to talk about?

Any new hope of a decent new anthropomorphic animal McDonald's marketing character?

That's something I've been wondering too.  Even assuming there's a significant furry contingent on B12, do they need a specific thread to talk specifically about furry?  If they converse as furries about nonfurry topics do they need their own thing?  And without that, are they just gonna murr and paw at each other?  Maybe it's just my non-furriness talking, but I can't really conceive of what conversation the thread could really have beyond what we've been talking about.

My biggest issue with the furry characters I see running around is that they're all just human beings transplanted into animal bodies.  If I were a wolf warped into the form of Man I would give a big finger to civilization and go totally feral, living in the woods and killing to survive.

I thought it would be nice to consolidate a group of people interested in my dream of building a fortress with animal men but nooooo there are a total of 4 furries on this board.

That's only 3 short of an embark party. You just have to nab some losers from somewhere else to do your cheesemaking and whatever for you! :P

The other three would spend the whole time idling, as they have been so far in the thread! And I'd be building a tower out of purple bricks by myself!

To my knowledge that wasn't why the first one was closed down. The first one was closed down because there was a lot of "Check this out, are you turned on yet?"
