Unless you have deleted/cleared the file, you can view the combat logs in <DF directory>/gamelog.txt.  You may have to dig back a ways as it logs everything there (combat, announcements, sparring) and it doesn't list the names just the raw combat log entries (e.g., The Speardwarf attacks the Weregoat, but the shot is blocked), but the entry should be there and easily identifiable for a were-beast attack.

So the teeth din't touched the skin at all.
We need a "Tearing through the +troll fur cloak+"
In the log there's only "Bruising through" and "Tearing it apart and bruising the bone" without any "through the -sheep wool loincloth-".

What makes the non-werebeast death from thirst even worse is that I nicknamed him "Weregoat" before his death, so that's how he's known on his coffin .  Poor dwarf.
