Does white noise hurt you?

I couldn't tell you exactly why, but I seem to really like it.
You'd think it'd be boring as hell to listen to the exact same, constant sound but oddly enough it isn't.

I don't even know how loud of a volume my computer headphones are capable of making, but I imagine any sound that's loud enough could mess up your hearing. I dunno.

If it's not loud enough to be damaging there's no reason why it should hurt you. It's used frequently to remove background noises.

I started using a looped rain recording to suppress my neighbours' noises in the dorm several years ago. Eventually I got used to having it on the background full time at home.

I can't stand both white noise and pink noise, they are both like needles to my ear drums.
Grey noise, however, it pretty nice.

It's pretty close to the sound of both white water and trees in the wind which are generally pleasant. I hear some people use white noise to help them go to sleep.

I like purple noise. It reminds me of the smell of glass.
