First of all: I hope this is the right place. I feel like it may not be.

Anyway my 'problem' is as follows.

1. I rarely have my Xbox connected to the internet due to Hughesnet being slow and even so I don't like multiplayer online games.

2. I bought a DLC package for a game I really enjoy so I hooked my xbox up to my internets.

3. It needed to update. Alright I can dig it. I download the update and the Xbox turns off.

4. It comes back on and says that "A system update is required to sign in to Xbox LIVE, but the update is currently unavailable."

At first I thought this may be an issue with the update so I uninstalled the update and tried again. Same issue. So I tried seventeen [I counted] more times and it didn't work. I know the update downloaded though.

My question is: Does anyone know what I should do in order to fix this whole issue?

Contacting Xbox Support is probably a good approach. I'm not sure if anyone else understands Xbox Live.

It appears whenever I try to connect to Xbox LIVE. If I'm not trying to go online everything is perfectly fine.

I assume that's under system info. If so I'm on: 2.0.16203.0

ok that is recent then, hmm try downloading a update onto a flash drive or burn it to a disc and stick it into the xbox

That didn't work either. Again, the update installs but when I try to connect to LIVE it says the update is unavailable.

alright call them up, most part they might ask you to do a system reset to default to clear out anything, as for that i dunno what else to do

Alright, thanks for the advice though. It at least took less time than the update usually does.
