4) Find Earth and use a planet buster on it. Actually let's planet bust the entire Sol system. Or colonize mars.

We must
1)destroy/buy 1 star system
2) meet Grox
3)reach Galactic Core.
4) Find Earth and use a planet buster on it. Actually let's planet bust the entire Sol system. Or colonize mars.

5) Ally with and/or exterminate the Grox

I imagine becoming friends with the Grox is easy.

Extermination on the other hand... Might take a little longer.

I have extensive experience. Allying is hard, but doable.
Extermination?
Takes FUCKING FOREVER.

Doh ho ho. I haven't tried to ally with the Grox, but from what I've heard it's pretty hard. You basically have one shot to do it, as they'll automatically hate your guts if you get any kind of negative to your relationship. And they love to send you on missions that'll piss them off if you complete them. Oh, and the friendship rays don't really work on them. So to ally with them you either have to be very lucky or savescum a lot.

Mind you they might have changed it since I've stopped playing, but allying with the Grox has its own achievement for a reason.

Ah. It's actually easier to ally with them than I thought, though it's still not easy (or the best idea in the world). Thanks for the link.

I think the Grox have like over 1000 2400 systems so it pretty much impossible to kill them off.
If you ally with them be prepared for every single civ to want to kill you

On the plus side you get the best ally ship in the game.

Won't everyone hate you no matter what you do? Planet bust the entire cosmos, it is the only way to be sure...

IIRC, we can destroy a colony with a superweapon and the positive bonus from being so evil will balance out the bad. Might not, though.

The Grox actually like it if you destroy planets.

As long as it's not a Grox planet obviously...

To Ally Grox:
First, fully upgrade your ship's energy storage, happy ray, and shields. Next, pick up several repair kits and batteries. Break galactic code several times for a large relationship bonus, then go to one of their planets and spam the happy ray. When you run low on power, use batteries. They will probably shoot at you, so use repair kits before you die. Eventually you'll reach a point where they'll sell you energy and health refills, and stop attacking you. Keep grinding their relation up, leave, and wait for alliance proposal. Everyone else (except those who really, really like you) will instantly turn against you, but with your new Ally, it won't matter.

To Exterminate the Grox:
Get as many monoliths and creature creation units as you can carry (and optionally the staff of life), and probably the tools to make planets T3 manually for good measure. Go around Grox territory, uplifting as many creatures as you can to space stage, creating life from scratch if need be. Save the Staff of Life for use on actual Grox planets. As soon as you create a spacefaring people, use your prestige to ask them to attack nearby enemies. The Grox will fall surely, under the swarms of dozens of new empires. As a plus, their former territory will be full of peoples who practically worship you.
