While you destroy one planet and wait for your weapon to recharge, the other planets in that empire (and every empire in the galaxy) will send ships to attack your planets. Before you can use superweapons, your colonies need to be able to defend themselves, or else you'll lose them all and not be able to regain them, due to constantly losing money and supplies to attacks on the homeworld.

Well, what we do now kind of decides what we'll have when we meet aliens. I'm opting for gathering/domestication so we have resources to do something, whatever that thing is. And I opt for that thing to be making flutes.

From what is believed to be the next volume of his journals

Soon, our village expands. We have the {mates? allies?} make some maracas; Froko and Pondu make a hut to put them in. On another note, at about the time the hut is filled, a baby named Kimes is born.

We may have trouble on the horizon.

Little Kimes is full of ideas. For instance, he grabbed a maraca, and later he took some food to a meduza and tamed it.

In other news, Aigray and Poussige were born. Yes, our village is quite functional.

I decided that everyone should grab a maraca, since they seem so useful. Except me, I'm the Chief. Maracas aren't a chiefly tool...and besides, I'm already holding a staff.

In any case, we have decided to pay this Brown Village--appropriate name--a little...visit.

They saw our maracas, and interestingly requested a concert. I consented...

They requested an encore, followed by an alliance. We accepted both. We swapped knowledge of our tools and instruments, and then a lightshow started at the village!

Now there are three new villages sprung up, calling themselves the Pink, Cyan, and Lavender Tribes. I suspect that the Pink Tribe is tired of its name, as it hates us and everyone.

Editor's Note: The proliferation of intelligence among several species at once is presumed to be due to the Niosan tendency to assimilate genes. Hence, our kind came first, then other species began assembling sentience from genes gathered from dead Cupcakes. By the time they reached sentience, the Cupcakes had a head start on virtually all technological and cultural processes, which is why they are the lower races and we are not.

No, but we can build tool huts!
Yeah, Spore is kinda limited in Tribe Stage. Which is kinda sad.

Anyways, shall we keep allying tribes or start exterminating them?

No. Kill their villagers, then to rub it in that they're all dead, steal all their food so they don't really regrow. The chiefs will respawn, but it'll be easy enough to kill them tribes at our own pace.

By the time we have killed the villagers, we can destroy the village quite easily. Also, not having enemies still living is something good, even if it is a lone chief

By the time we have killed the villagers, we can destroy the village quite easily. Also, not having enemies still living is something good, even if it is a lone chief
It's easier to get food from a raid. We can steal their stuff, go home, have a snack and THEN destroy all that they love and hold dear!

Still. It's more convenient, because you can mix all the food into one pile instead of having to have everyone with an individual pile. And we don't need all our members attacking the hut at once, we can steal the food and then back ourselves up.
