You enter the room containing the high priests.  When the two of you look upon them, you notice that Stan and John are the high priests, with your other former-universe co-workers comprising the rest of the priesthood.

Update 6 of Restart

You decide not to devour the priests, but Pyrite is carefully placed in the position in front of John, while you are in front of Stan.  Stan explains that the order carefully manipulated the events in the prior universe were entirely used to bring you to this point.  How in the world they did this escapes you for the moment.  Although, it wasn't intended that you fuse with Pyrite, but this could work greatly in the Grand Plan.
