Well I can tell when a GM wants to move a game along but to be safe. Try all doors.

Well I can tell when a GM wants to move a game along but to be safe. Try all doors.

Of course, only one door is attached to the wall to close a entrance. The other is simply laying against the wall, perhaps to be used as a replacement, a quick check reveals no hidden entrance or any other nonsense. I mean, it's really just a door. Blood has started to slowly come out from the bottom of the wooden door and the noises have stopped. You feel a strange tug from the die, as if reminding you they are there. Another quick glance ito the book reveals soul has risen to 20.

Grab the dice and then kick down the door.

Grabbing the dice and putting them in your left pocket. You contemplate how to open the door. The nice, brass-colored door handle seems inviting, but you decide to kick it down even though the hinges are screwed into solid rock and you doubt kicking the door would do any real damage, but you do it anyway. And your leg now hurts, and the door is unchanged. The blood coming from under the door has disappeared. A clanking noise was heard after you kicked the door.

Go back and read the paper one more time just in case, then go open the door we kicked.

Go back and read the paper one more time just in case, then go open the door we kicked.

You go back to where the note dropped and pick it up, you can see the same message is there, "Roll the dice" and on the other side "Pay the price". You put it in the pocket containing the die (left) and walk back to the door. Grabbing the doorknob and twisting to open the door inwardly, you are greeted with an odd site; an old skeleton is slumped down onto himself, as if he fell over when you kicked the door.

Other than that, you are greeted with a hallway comprised of the same grey stone and wooden floor. Their are some arches supporting the roof scattered through it's length. Their is a wooden door at the end and one to the right, at roughly the middle. To the left is a bookshelf, upon which sit three books.

Oops... Let's read the books.

As you step over the skeleton, you notice this floor is creaky and sounds as if it hollow beneath. The hallway itself is a bit dark, as the only light source is the candle from the room you resided moments ago. As you reach the bookshelf you can see the shelves absolutely covered by dust, however the books seem completly untouched by time.

You can hardly see the titles of the books, but the first book has a red hardcover, and is titled "Stats: The Book of Demons". The Second has a blue hardcover, and is titled "Controlling your Powers of Chance". Which is rather confusing, since chance is something not normally controlled. The third is a black hardcover and does not have a title.

Okay, read the blue book then the black book and afterwards check the hollow bit in the floor.

After returing to the room and sitting in the chair to read in the light, you commence a lengthy reading session of the blue book. It reveals that rolling the dice has a chance of fufilling a current wish, and the total is deducted from the "Soul" stat inside Stats. The higher the roll increases the chance of a wish being fufilled, but a high roll also has te chance to create a "leak" in the soul, though exact mechanics of the soul stat differ greatly from person to person, and is thus hard to tell what exactly will happen. The book contains no mention of what happens when you run out of Soul, but cautions against rolling too much. Their was several mentions of things you currently do not understand.

The black book appears to be in a journal format, though is currently filled with the moving ink rendering it unreadable.

Read the Little Red Book.

Wish we had more power, roll dice.

You grab the red book and open it; initially appearing to be research done by an unknown person, or persons, containg many large and scientific words. You have diffuculty reading through the book, but it reveals many facts about the book which is now apparently bound to you. Such as it's great control over time and how horrible it is to which it has bound itself. The book tells that the binding process is very painful, though differs in intensity, and that only the one bound is able to read and see the book, though it still carries a physical presence. Stats is said only to appear in times of great need, and the victim of the book is seemingly random. It also reveals the Stats to sometimes cause great misfortune and pain to the one it is bound. The boundie is given a horrible curse after completion of the "task" they are compelled to complete, even if they do not accomplish the task, a curse is still set.

After the disturbing fact you are now fated to a terrible life you take out the die and roll them, wishing you had more power and light, though not specifying what kind of power. You roll a 9. You feel a pain throughout your body, though you feel more physically strong. A look at Stats reveal Health has changed to 23/25, and Soul is now 11/20. You stick the die in your pocket for later. The candle is burning a bit brighter now.

Check the hallway and the hollow floor.

Contemplate why we would phrase something that dangerously.
