I would really like some engineers who can work on improving the mechanisms that we use for our automatic weapons, and also the mechanisms that are at work in our factories. If we could cook up some more factory automation then it could address many of our woes and get our workers back into the mines where they belong.
I would really like some effort to be made to address our ethical duties, as without ethics, we are just another expansionist(in effect, if not by choice, yet...) nation looking to destroy our neighbour's culture...
Actually, if we can, get the research institute to investigate the principles behind jet propulsion
That is not how the research institute works, or at least, it shouldn't be. They are just a bunch of scientists left to play around with expensive toys in the hopes that they might stumble upon something useful. It provides a bit of a dilemma for the G.M. though. Does it produce real-world technology that can be exploited, such as silicon circuitry, which would likely provide us with guided missiles, remotely operated turrets, and code-breaking super-computers in a couple of years, and autonomous vehicles within 5, or fictional technologies which will require effort to create something interesting that can withstand scrutiny and not break the game...
But telling them what to do would entirely defeat the purpose of having them, as they are there to provide things that we cannot think of. But by all means produce more specific research facilities.
(BTW RAM no one uses your weird naming scheme)
Nobody uses any naming scheme right now. Mine tells us how well each role is represented, yours tells us which docks we need. I think that mine is better, and assuming the situation and casually and ambiguously insulting ideas like that is a particularly nefarious argument tactic...
