getting "doesn't care about anything anymore"
« on: May 08, 2013, 07:29:35 am »

So I want my dwarves to get this trait as fast as possible, would making burrow in a small room and making them watch 15 cats drop down a chute and splatter work or I need drop them down periodically so they can think about it?

I think it takes more than 15 cats, but other than that I'm not sure.  I know the thoughts screen appears to limit the happiness hit to a single thought of certain types, but whether that has any bearing on witnessing animal deaths and not caring about anything anymore, I'm not sure.

probably a lot more than 15.

If you want to do science, I think this stat is measured in dwarf therapist.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

The consensus I've read but never tested is that dwarves (or maybe sapients in general) have far more impact than animals.  If you're going to drop dwarves, be careful about tantrum spirals from losing friends.  Caravan members would probably work best for that, but due to their limited supply, it will take a while.

Or entire migrant waves.  Then no tantrum spirals, since nobody knew the migrants yet anyway.

That's what DF needs, The gutbuster brigade.  Screw that elf and his cat. Thibbledorf Pwent is the real hero.
