So a couple weeks have passed, and a few days ago I stumbled across a youtube video of a frame by frame analysis of a video just after the blast. There was also a bunch of close up pictures with one guy lazing about, unaware of the camera being ready, a clearly visible prosthetic leg, pre-explosion, and absolutely no blood from the gentleman who's legs were blown off, followed by a ton of very fake looking red splotches strewn about the place.

I'm sure you can find the videos/websites/picshas yourself, but I'm not going to link anything yet as I'm still at work. I just wanted to start a thread to hear Bay12's perspective on whether or not this thing was a hoax.

Damn, the OP caught me.  Yes, I faked the Boston marathon bombing.  I needed to distract people while my fellow conspirators replaced all the tin foil with aluminium foil that is incapable of stopping our mind rays.  Nice job stopping my prosthetic leg.  I had hoped that people might think that maybe I was just someone with a prosthetic leg but you saw the truth of the matter.

Reports abound of man-in-the-middle nodes being set up all around, and sending information to certain forumgoers to make them think there are discussions going on that aren't.  Said attackers mine lots of personal data and mimic the behavior of other posters on said forums in their attacks in an attempt to get people to respond to the not-real threads.
