How do I release an accidentially caged dwarf?
« on: May 02, 2013, 07:56:53 am »

So today my masterwork-fort got attacked by a forest spider. In the battle at my front door I lost a goose, a horse, and two dwarves. At least that's what my Therapist told me. After looking over the cage traps some time later I noticed this:

(screenshot taken after the cage was moved to the stockpile)

I have no idea how this happened, I don't even have a justice screen under z yet. I can't assign the dwarf to a cage and I can't assign a lever to the cage the dwarf is currently in. She doesn't show up in Therapist, and she's dehydrated. How do I get her out of this cage? And, for science, how did she end IN the cage? There is nothing in the reports..

You need to build the cage first (using "x" to select the exact cage within the list).

She probably got knocked unconscious while standing on a cage trap.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Thanks! Forgot about the x-part when building a cage :)
