I have three guitars and I'm looking at a fourth. Granted, they're cheap as far as guitars go (~$100 each for the guitars new, plus a bass + amp for $150) but they're probably the most expensive things I own other than my computer, which I count as a necessity for school and suchlike.
One claims to be a Fender Starcaster, but I suspect it's a cheap solid-body fakery. I got it via eBay because my sister recommended it. The damn thing hardly works unless you spend ten minutes fiddling with the cord, and it doesn't sound good at all. Never taking my sister's advice again.
The second one I got from an actual music shop with legitimate products. It's a nylon-string acoustic from a company called Valencia or something like that. It sounds pretty nice, but it's nothing special (that might have something to do with my own skill though
)
The bass I got from a friend. I can't read the brand name (it's written in loopy cursive), but it's a pretty popular brand in my area. The amplifier that came with the fake Starcaster sounds pretty good with it.
I'm thinking about getting a steel-string acoustic with one of those amplifier-out thingies what's built into them and all that jazz. It's a pain trying to put a microphone on the nylon strings, and there's certain songs that just don't sound good on that type of guitar.
