I would probably put it closer to 20, and maybe make or veto a proposal for 100, and for 500 you can halve the quorum for a proposal, and if you have 10 or less, then the time between proposals is halved.

If someone makes a rule that involves the quorum, just remember that that term isn't mentioned directly in the rules, and it'd have to be worded kind of longer.

Proposal All conflicts of interpretation of rules shall be arbitrated by voting by all players.

Hey henrib, just a heads up, you're currently in violation of rule 201:
Quote
201. Any player may propose one rule-change per two days by posting their proposal in this thread.
I remeber it well, because I've already been called on it once :P

And unrelated:
For 310
since the rules only say I get to vote, and not that I cant vote on my own.

You dirty post editor.

If I'm not mistaken, I edited well before the next post, which is well within the rules. Btw, is the 48 hours not up on proposition 310? SHould probably timestamp them.

Look at the rule again, pretty sure the time is of the adoption of amendment, not next post, unless I am miscomprehending.

Dare I suggest a rule where anyone who gains 100 Money wins the game, or the like? Or does that make the game too conventional?

It would mean that the game might die from something other than disinterest, which would be a terrible departure from tradition...

don't we already have stuff that deals with this issue (post editing)?

proposal (tentatively 315, since we haven't passed proposition 310 yet)

Each player must spend (and does, unless they explicitly opt out) 1 money for each 24 hours they are in the game or die of hunger. A dead player may not vote, but may rejoin after 3 days as a new player (with all their stats reset)

I think that sounds like a boring win condition! But the game does have to end eventually...

I just noticed accepted rules don't match their proposal numbers. 108 kind of implied they would. Indeed for stuff like the (current) 202 it explicitly states that they will.

So I didn't have a long enough period of free time to go tally votes and stuff today, but I will be good at around noon or 1 tomorrow, so expect it around then!

Proposal: Every player must vote at least once within a 48 hour period. If a player has not voted for 48 hours, another player may create a post that includes the words "Crime by Abstention by X" where "X" is replaced by the name of the player who has not voted in 48 hours. The first player to declare, in a post, the Crime by Abstention will receive two money from the player who committed the crime.

Added as proposal 315.

Quote
Proposal A violation of any rule is defined as a Crime. Any player who is accused of committing a Crime will be referred to as the Suspect of that case. Any player who accuses another player of committing a Crime will be referred to as the Accuser of that case.

Added as proposal 316.

Quote
Proposal At the beginning of every two-day period, every member who participated in voting or creating propositions in the last two-day period receives 5 money.
Added as proposal 317.

Quote
Each player must spend (and does, unless they explicitly opt out) 1 money for each 24 hours they are in the game or die of hunger. A dead player may not vote, but may rejoin after 3 days as a new player (with all their stats reset)

Added as proposal 318.

Quote
314. Amend 204: Any member who edits a post (not including the opening post of the thread) will be penalized by losing one Money.
Passes after reaching quorum.

Quote
310. All future proposals shall be made with "Proposal" in bold. The mandatory proposal number shall be assigned by quinnr when he posts it in the first post, to prevent duplicates. Furthermore, no proposal may be voted on until it has been assigned its number and posted in the "Proposals" section of the first post.

Passes as rule 206 after time limit.

Quote

311. Each time a Proposal reaches quorum, players are awarded 1 (one) Money for each vote of theirs which counts. Votes which were not changed or rescinded, and therefore affected the final tally of votes, are said to have counted.

Passes as rule 207 after time limit.

Proposal 312 fails after time limit.

Quote
313. Any player gains 5 money if a proposal they proposed passes.
Passes after time limit.

Against 315

Against 316

For 317

For 318

As far as 315 is concerned, there is enough built in punishment if 318 passes to encourage play. Simply put, if you're not in here participating and earning money, you starve and die anyway. 316 is too vague. If you want to implement criminal action, you need to specify a punishment, at least, if not categories and what happens to repeat offenders.

Against 317, 318, 315 Anything to do with inactivity is covered enough in the week -> removal rule, in my opinion. The two-day period thing is..awkward, is all.

For 316

All votes up to this post tallied.
