Well since this is the question box I might drop one here.

I've recently started learning python and C++ and I reckoned I could make sense of DF, well I was wrong.

I'm trying to make humans a playable fortress faction, can you point me in the right direction?

Why should I have talked to him before? I wont ask for insider info of coming versions, and Toady himself has no use for mods.

Feel free to open up Orc fortress (or kobold camp) and look at that too of course.  Really the core files are Creature, Building, Reaction files and then the Entity is what references everything and ties it together.

Ok a real question! For all those professions fraught with (!danger!), does the skill of the operator factor in the odds they blow themselves up? If so, is it still better to just stick the haulers/nobles into said roles, and replace them as needed?

Also, why hasn't Putnam skilled up to +2 yet?

1. No, since the explosions are based on very much fixed percentages
2. Because I haven't bothered with it
